I just pushed through a long plateau but now I am sick! Do I push through it and keep exercising? Do I do really light stuff like walking and arm weights? Or do I rest until I am better? Ant thoughts???

It depends how ill you are. If you have a bit of a cold I'd say exercise, it can help. I tend to keep going as normal unless I have a temperature, or am throwing up.0

I would never exercise if I was sick. Your body needs its energy to help you recover. Any added stress is going to keep you sick longer =/
Feel better soon! Take it easy, drink lots of fluids.0 -
I always take rest days when I'm sick. Of course when I'm sick it is usually bronchitis or worse (like pneumonia) and my asthma also becomes a factor and without the ability to breathe exercise is pretty much impossible.0

Very light exercise if you have the energy. If you don't, then rest, rest, and more rest! Stretches are always good, esp. if you will be in bed for a while. Go easy on yourself though, so you don't stay sick longer than you need to.
Don't forget to drink your fluids!0 -
For whatever reason, I (touch wood) just get these lingering low grade colds that make me feel weak. But I'm never sick enough to just take a day off. I have tried just walking and doing nothing else, but it seems like rest is best. Listen to your body.0

I stop exercising and I eat more fruit and veg.0

Relax until you are better.:flowerforyou:0

My coach told me the rule of thumb is if the symptoms are above the shoulders go ahead and work out. If the symptoms are below the shoulders take a rest day. Of course if you are running a fever stay in bed! Be sure and get plenty of water!0

Depends on how sick. If you're super sick like the flu, rest. If it's just a cold I like to Active Rest (clean, walk around, etc).
What I personally do is get some herbal green tea and Shakeology, along with some good low-sodium soups. Veg on the couch with some TV and I'm set0 -
Head colds I work through... workout, eat/drink, rest. Fevers and the like I don't... just rest.
Listen to your body. If you feel like you can workout, then you probably can. If you feel like you're dying, maybe you are.0 -

I agree, your body needs all its energy to recover, take it easy for a few days and see how you feel...0 -

Unless you are working out in a public gym, then stay the hell home! Nobody wants to see somebody sneezing or coughing all over the equipment, giving everybody else their cold.0 -
well before i would have told you to just get better, but now that I'm sick with like a regular cold, I'm still exercising, I don't have a fever or anything, so just toughing it out0

I usually push hard six days a week..but today I have body aches, weakness, and just gross. I took the rest day. Last time I pushed through and my workouts sucked. I'm gonna listen to my body this time.0

Last night I felt so bad. Today I'm taking the rest.0

I follow the same above the shoulders/below the shoulders rule. And for me, a really good run (or just some good cardio) makes me feel better than any cold medicine ever has. It clears up my breathing, reduces headaches and just generally makes me feel stronger and better. So I always workout through a cold, and mine rarely last more than a few days. (before I was working out colds normally knocked me out for a couple of weeks)0
