grocery shopping ideas?

I need some healthy simple options I can buy at the grocery store!

Like snacks preferably fat free or low fat and low sugar
Filling snacks
Simple meals that teenagers can make

Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Here are some of my faves!

    Sugar free pudding
    Yoplait light yogurt-comes in so many different flavors, and you can mix granola or nuts in it for some crunch
    Flat out wraps with fat free cream cheese, turkey and veggies
    Cottage cheese-lots of protein!
    Healthy pop popcorn- 100 cal packs :)

    celery with cream cheese. I love putting cream cheese in a ziplock bag and cutting off the tip.. make for perfect strips of cream cheese on celery..

  • Anything that is whole wheat will give you that extra protein you may lack. Stock up on the vegetable that is on sale. If you have over purchased, cut them up and place in a tuberware container to preserve. This will make it that much easier when you are needing a healthy snack.

    Here are some snacks I find filling and enjoy:

    1/2 a whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese
    Hardboiled egg
    Thomas light english muffin - with egg, or peanut butter
    Almonds
    Vita top chocolate muffins (freezer section)
    Banana with 1 tbsp peanut butter
    Kashi waffle and turkey sausage
    Apple and string cheese
