When is a good time to work out?

Does it make a difference if you work out in the morning, early evening, or at night? Or is it just a preference/ when you can work it in your schedule type of thing? Are there any benefits as too which time of day you work out?

    I say whenever you workout is a good time. For me just getting it in makes me feel better. I always hate that I have to go but, feels so good after I have! So just go for it! Good Luck!

    I think it's just whenever you prefer. I used to work out in the mornings. I really liked doing it then because I could just have it done and not worry about it the rest of the day but the last month or so I've only been able to get it in in the evening.
  • In terms of creating a calorie deficit I don't think it matters when you work out :) If I can I'd prefer to exercise in the morning as I find getting all hot and sweaty makes me feel less like eating and it wakes you up in the morning!

    I work out at night because I can hardly get my a** motivated to work out, let alone having to get my a** motivated to get up and THEN work out. yeah, I'm not a morning person.

    Eat when you can, workout when you can!

    If that means you eat at midnight.... or workout at 4 am because it's your only free time, then do it. Better to eat when you have time rather than grabbing something "that fits" etc

    There really isn't there's a lot of debate that claims doing high intensity cardio bouts in the morning is most efficient because of the "after burn" affect but truly its such a small factor. Just make sure that you do work out not so much about when its really just all about burning the calories when you do it is irrelevant.

    I think it is important to get a solid workout in each day, but I don't think it really matters when you do it. When I work out in the morning I tend to eat more calories throughout he day. When I know I have to go to spin class or climb stairs at the end of the day, I'm a lot more cautious about what I put into my body because it sucks to workout on a full stomach.

    Like others have said, I don't really think there is a better time to do a work out (morning vs night). What I think is important is that you choose a time of the day when you have energy, that way you can give your work out your all. If you do it at a point in the day where you have low energy, you might not work out as hard. That being said, any workout is better than no work out. :)
  • It makes a difference in your overall balance. When you work out, you get everything running faster. This includes your mind. If you workout too late in the day, it effects the quality of sleep that you will get for the first few hours that you go to bed. This adds to the "tired" feeling the next day which makes you not want to workout and could help push you to not workout due to feeling tired. Also, if you work during the day it helps you to focus if you do it in the first half of the day. From a calorie stand point there is not much/any difference. From a balanced feeling and lifestyle stand point, it is Very important to workout in the morning.

    There is absolutely no difference. From thegreatfloods point of view, that's centralized, not everyone is that way. I've always been told the best time to workout is when your *kitten* will get in there and workout. If you're not a morning person, no way are you going to go workout with enough energy and "get up and go" than someone who functions better in the evening.
