My first 5K is coming up, does any one have any advise on last minute preparation regarding nutrition and/or workouts?

I usually run 3 to 4 times a week , 2+ miles per session. I do interval running with my dog. I have not changed my eating habits, I do try to eat healthy during the week and treat myself a bit on the weekends.

I'm getting kinda nervous as the date is approaching!

Relax, you can do it. Don't stress about what place you finnish in - as long as you finnish you are doing better than a huge majority of the people out there - if it was easy everyone would do it :)

a 5k is 3.2 miles- so try to do a couple of "long runs" at the milage of the race to see how it goes. My rule of thumb when I have run my races, is train up until 2 days before the race. Then I rest for 2 days and do no running. On the day of the race I usually get up early and eat some oatmeal first thing, drink water, then bring a banana with me and eat it a half an hour before the race starts.

Just remember to keep your pace! With the race adrenaline its easy to want to push it the first mile or so, but if you stick with your pace, you should be able to finish the race no problem! Good Luck!

This week try to add to your mileage, and then keep doing what you are doing until the middle of next week and then back off a little; if you do anything the night before keep it to an easy walk. Also get your carbs in, GOOD carbs and don't over kill on it; get a good night's rest and then eat a little something that morning as well as drinking a couple cups of water.
At the race sight, walk around and loosen up, take in the atmosphere...make sure you get in the bathroom line early enough to take care of your business before race time! And when the race begins, enjoy the event and run your race. Don't worry about those guys and girls trying to set a record, know that whatever you do will be your first PR that you can beat on a later date!
I ran my first 5K last December and I still get chills thinking about how awesome it was to cross the finish line for the first time, you will love it!

I just did mine last Saturday - was never a runner and still have yet to complete C25K!

You'll do fine - and as BobbyDaniel said, crossing the finish line for the first time will be AWESOME!

I signed up for my 2nd already.
