Binge

So I think I have to create a set schedule for my work outs and make sure that they kick my butt and MAKE me lose weight. I've been working out but not enough.
Today I went and was doing great. Then Went on a complete binge crazy and pretty much ate my entire pantry. Now I'm upset (because I ate so much) and feel sick (because I ate so fricken much!).
I hate to be a little whiny b!tch, but right now I almost sorta hate myself. I feel like every time I'm good and on track for a few days I completely blow it. I don't know why! It feels like I can do anything right. My mini goal this week was to not have any mess ups because Easter is on Sunday and I'm assuming I'm going to eat my weight in all sorts of good foods then. So I've been working really hard and trying to focus a lot of my energy on working out and eating healthy. But I just seem to not be able to stick with it.
Does anyone else feel this way, ever? And if you do how do you focus on staying 100% on track? When you binge eat is there anything you do the next day to counter act it? Oh jeez, oh Man. Please Help

don't fret. this happens to many people. i'm a recovering binger myself. my best advice is the following:
1) identify the cause of your binges. usually its emotional or stress related. find the source and look for more productive ways to deter this negative energy
2) drink lots of water. i assume all of the food you ate was yucky stuff so you need to flush it out of your system
3) dust yourself off and keep going. tomorrow is a brand new day. don't let what happened today affect what you (negatively) tomorrow or the day after. this is a learning process. we make mistakes. learn from them and move on,
4) my personal motto: forgive yourself. my biggest downfall would be to beat myself up over every mistake and end up falling off the wagon for weeks at a time.
hope some of that helps. those that binge can't stop overnight. it takes time.
best of luck to you

i am the SAME way. for some reason i am always SO hungry. it annoys the crap out of me. i've lost 4 lbs since last friday and i feel like i gained it all back yesterday and today because i just had to get buffalo chicken pizza from pizza hut. UGH if it just wouldn't have been there then i would have done fine! i think its just willpower. i want to be skinny but i just can't bring myself to not eat the foods i want to eat. i'm so frustrated with myself. it's not only you!:mad:0

You can't always be so hard on yourself, but you do need to figure out WHY you're binging. Is there any common trigger for your binges?
When I have food binges, it's usually because I've had a rough day - clothes are too tight, tough day at work, argument with friends or family, etc. Maybe you smiled at that cute guy at the gym and he smirked and looked the other way (been there). I come home from something that should be making me feel great and instead I come home wondering "Will it ever get any easier?"
Instead of just planning your gym routine, plan your meals as well. Know what you're making for dinner before you get home from the gym - that will cut down on you being indecisive and eating everything in your kitchen! My motivation to stay on track: the snapshot of my digital blood pressure reading when it was 146/77 or the thought of being able to shave my inner thighs without having to move my belly out of the way. Haha!
Just know that you have a great support system here and stay strong! :flowerforyou:

:ohwell: Hi, I totally understand what you are saying. I do the same but after a week of being good and controlling my food intake I go off the wagon. I just get back on and keep on keeping on. Don't sweat the occassional off days. Drink lots of water or tea or eat carrotts green vegies. I may have to try my own advice!!
Good Luck!0 -
Thanks Everyone so much!!
It feels weird but every time I rant on this site there are SO many people who help me through it. I need to save this post somewhere so when I'm feeling discouraged I can go back and read what great things everyone has written to help me out!
Thank You all SOOOOO much!0 -

Not do it again .... that's about all you have the power to do at this point.
Log your food and however many calories you went over, divide it by 5. Make that your daily exercise goal for the next week (exercise 5 days and take the next day off). Also, plan after-workout meals so you know exactly what to do after you exercise and can refuel in a healthy way.
I'm completely making this up by the way but it sounded good and it couldn't hurt. I just wondered what I would do if I ever did something like that.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm a math geek. That's not in response to the binge, by the way .. more so in response to scheduling exercise.
No worries about the binge though. Just drink a lot of water because you probably had a lot of salt in all that and are probably retaining water.0 -
I completly understand about the binges...I tend to do this myself and yes, I get very disppointed with myself as well. Although, my strategy this week has been to slightly increase my daily calories (about 200 cals)...maybe your are not getting enough and are ACTUALLY hungry. So far so good with me, the urge to binge has definetly decreased.0
