Ohdeargodno.
Part of losing weight and becoming healthy is creating a sustainable eating habit. You WILL NOT be able to sustain a sudden loss of 1000 calories. Going from 2200 to 1800 seems more reasonable and doable.0 -

ell no. Go to 1800. Heck go to 2000 and see waht happens - then drop to 1800 after 3 weeks if you dont' see results.
I'm serious - huge deficits over long terms will actually slow your metabolism down. don't do it.0 -

I second this.
Your body needs significantly more that 1200 just to do things like respiration and pump blood!0 -
I have been trying to go to 1200 calories and its really difficult for me. The site says I need to drop to 1200 I'll do 1800 calories I can do that.0

I agree with what everyone else said. I would also add that many people on MFP have lost weight more weight faster at 1400 and 1500 rather than 1200 when they were loosing nothing (myself included in that)
Good luck with your weight los!0 -

You're likely to have set a goal weight loss per week too high for your build.
If you're close to your ideal weight and you select 2lbs/week loss it is likely that the app will set you at 1200 calories. When you're too close to your ideal weight you should look into 1lb or even 0.5lbs per week of loss rather then a quick fix.0 -
You must have your setting on losing 2 lbs a week. Just change your setting to losing 1 lbs a week or something else. Eventually you'll need to further reduce to keep losing. That's where exercise comes in. Exercise and then you can eat more.0
