Hey to all awesome and gorgeous people of MFP, I know I may sound stupid asking this question. But I would like to hear what you said because it's important
So the situation is, I've been on MFP for like a month. And I am super motivated. I joined local fitness club because they have cardio dance classes every single day. I have been going to the classes on Monday (1 hour), Thursday(1 hour) and Sunday (3 hours). What about other days? I have night classes, so most of the time I walked a lot (and I walked fast) and after class, I always do at least 30 mins of Hip Hop Abs (I did try others like Turbo Jam, 30 days shred and insanity, but I'm such a loser than I can't enjoy them )
I never touch sweet drinks (only low fat milk for my cereal in the morning, or coffee on some days) I drink water. all the time. And I don't touch any fast food (i'm a vegetarian) I don't eat a lot of pastries and bake products (only one or twice this month).
Sounds like I'm discipline? Idk, because of the people here that kept me driven (kudos to you guys) and when I weigh myself. No drop (no gain too except after workout) None. My fat azz still fat.
I tried to get my calories above 1200, but most days I couldn't. If I don't have healthy food nearby, I don't eat at all. And once I kinda let myself go just a little, I gained A LOT in an instance even breathing air makes me feel fat (does that consider eating disorder?? because I don't wanna any of you who added me and thinK i have eating disorder and then delete me.)
How do I get that weight down! 30 days here (counting 31 down) I can't account here on MFP that my ticker doesn't move! That's what frustrates me. (but no, I'm not giving up on this healthy lifestyle, you guys are too amazing to give up. :P)
cheers

try to put in some light weight high rep training when u can see if u can get a trainer for a session, lifting weight makes yor muscles active and burn even while you dont work out, so it can help alot in your case, and even if you dont see a change, that just means you have more water weight then usual and thats a good thing. so dont worry if you dont see a drop sooner or later you will see it and since its a lifestyle and not a diet, your bound to win in the long run!0

I know this sounds counterintuitive but I think you should try eating a little more... maybe 1800 calories a day. If you eat too little your body will go into starvation mode and start storing your calories rather than burning and causing a huge energy slump.0
-
I'm thinking you may need more protein because of all the heavy exercise... helps your body build muscle tissue.0
-
Try adding in a protein shake or two to boost your calories?0

Did you by any chance measure yourself at the beginning?? Do you see a difference in how your clothes are fitting? I say this because I have been at this for about 6 weeks now and I just really started to see the scale move. But..in the last 4 weeks I have lost over 10 inches! I also agree that you may want to start incorportaing some resistance training...I do that 3 times a week. Honestly, it takes a while for your body to realize what it is you want it to do, and you definately need to make sure you are at the very least eating your base line calories, making them good calories! Hope this helps0

Thanks for the respond!
Yeah I used to drink protein shake, but I stopped. I don't know why, but maybe because I don't know how to mix the protein shake with other stuff. :P But I'll take your advice in having protein in my diet.
I only weigh myself, but I didn't measure myself. I lost my measuring tape (=_=) but yes, I'm going to buy one asap!0 -
As eddyca said, you may want to try eating more calories per day because your body may be going into starvation mode. Also, you may want to think about not skipping meals. Your body needs food to keep its metabolism going. If you skip meals, it will slow down making it a lot harder to lose weight.0

Oh! Don't worry! I don't skip meals. I always eat my breakfast, lunch AND dinner. it's just that I won't wanna snack if there's no healthy food nearby... I always prepare healthy lunch at work, and during dinner I'll eat light before my night classes or my workout nights. But I could NEVER EVER skip meals.. I have to have 3 meals. but my 3 meals are not that high in calories 3 combined together can only be less than 1000 :P0 -
I carry a ziploc bag of chopped walnuts in my purse. If I need something to eat and don't have anything else, I have a handful of the walnuts. That would help you add a decent number of healthy calories and a few more grams of protein. Or you could add them to you cereal.0

Hey there, a few things to try:
1. Wear a pedometer and make sure that on days when you don't get any exercise, you take 10000 steps. On days when you do exercise, get 5000 steps.
2. Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep. I never lose weight if I am sleep deprived.
3. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day.
4. Try limiting how much carbs you eat. I lose way more weight if I limit my carbs to less than 100g a day.
5. Eat at least 1200 calories. You do not want your body to go into starvation mode.
6. Start weight training. This makes sure you keep your muscle mass so that you can continue to burn calories throughout the day.
Hope this helps.0 -
I have pedometer And yeah I actually walked 20000 steps per day because I don't have car, I always walk and taking stairs... But! I gotta do something about my sleep :P0

OH! I bought a bag of organic dried raisins :P I thought of cooking it in my oats for my breakfast. :P0 -
I would agree with those who have mentioned protein. I'm a vegetarian too, and find it really difficult to get enough protein in my diet. I use protein powder twice a day (blended with almond milk and a few berries) to make sure I get enough.
And to the person who mentioned getting enough water, I agree with them too At least 2 litres, plus another litre for each hour you excercise.
Good luck!0
