We can be our worst enemy or our own best friend!

Last night I was bored. My worst enemy said, "Go ahead and eat another snack. You earned extra calories today and have been good all week." My best friend said, “If you eat up the calories you earned you will never progress. You don't need another snack, what you need is to get off the couch and do something...like the dishes in the sink!"
My alarm went off at 4:30 this morning and my worst enemy said, "You've exercised for five days straight. You can take a break and get another 45 minutes of sleep this morning." Then my best friend said, "Remember yesterday you tried to put on the skirt you wore a month ago and the button didn't even reach the button hole, even when you sucked in your tummy? You can do this! Get up!"
The tension on the elliptical hit the max halfway through the workout and my legs ached. My worst enemy said, "You are working yourself to hard. Fifteen minutes is better than nothing. Go ahead, stop and take a rest this morning." My best friend said, "You have made it through this routine before. Just think about how happy you will be when you put that skirt back on and the button goes into the button hole without you even having to suck that belly in!"
This morning, I hit the 1 mile mark in 30 minutes, which has eluded me all week, thanks to my best friend!

Way to go! It is so much easier sometimes to listen to the "worst enemy" than that best friend. Thanks for the reminder that I do have a best friend not just the worst enemy!!0
