Lower Body

So I've injured my right shoulder, and I think at least 2 of my ribs are out of whack. Keeping it short, basically, moving my upper body much at all sucks and hurts quite a bit. Anyways... until I can get this issue resolved and fully heal, I'm wondering what kind of exercises I can do that won't strain these areas or damage them further. I was thinking of just taking long walks every day and doing a lot of squats... but that just sounds so boring.
Any ideas? I'm not an expert on exercise, but I'd like to be able to switch it up a little while I'm waiting for my body to mend itself. Keep in mind... turning my torso or bending over hurts. A lot. And using my arms hurts. A lot. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to post responses!

Squats, Lunges and Calf Raises are the ones that come to mind for me. Still gotta be careful even with those if you have a rib injury. A loss of balance could cause you quite a bit of pain.0

Becareful because some of these lower body exercises will use your core too. That might hurt your ribs depending on where the injury is.0

So do you think it would be safe then as long as I'm careful and take it easy to at least do squats/lunges and maybe walk for an hour a day? I'm sedentary for the most part, but I was doing Turbo Fire 6 days a week, usually at least 2 classes a day. So walking would be a pretty big step down as far as intensity.

A recumbant bike might be another good option for you if you have access to one.0

Would an exercise bike or recumbent bike work? Or step aerobics without the arm movements?0

I don't have access to a recumbent bike, no. Unfortunately, can't afford a gym membership either.
I think I'll just stick to walking and doing squats/lunges, since I can keep my balance fairly well doing those things.
