In theory if you went to the gym twice a day, could you get away with doing circuit training in the morning and heavy weights in the evening? Or would you do running in the morning instead?

You would have to manage it in such a way that would allow sufficient recovery.

It all depends on your goals. So you are doing what we call in Beachbody "double" workouts where you do extra cardio on your weight lifting days?

If you are lifting weights, I would do no more than 35 minutes of it. When you lift weights, you continue to burn calories long after the weight lifting is over. Muscle repair when you rest, and that requires calories. So your body is burning calories to repair itself when you rest. The extra cardio is just a boost to burn even more calories in the same day, but you don't want to over do it since you can fall in the over training trap.

    Good luck!

Essentially what I do currently is:

Day 1: AM Cardio (Treadmill - 2 mins run, 3 mins walk etc...)
Day 1 PM Weight lifting (Upper body)

Day 2: AM Cardio (Treadmill - 2 mins run, 3 mins walk etc...)
Day 2: PM Weight training (Lower body)

Day 3: AM Cardio (Treadmill - 2 mins run, 3 mins walk etc...)
Day 3 PM Cardio (Treadmill - 2 mins run, 3 mins walk etc...)

I was recently introduced to circuit training and was wondering if I could replace my morning cardio with it
