Need women's advice...pms cramps after working out

I need some advice from women that have experienced pms like cramps after working out. Since last week, everytime I have gone to the gym I have experienced menstrual cramps. They subside after I relax for several minutes. I do want to say that my period is irregular (i've been on the copper iud for 1 year)...the past few months my periods have been on time, but this one is very whacky.
My nipples hurt for a whole week, then suddenly stopped. Then I developed a lump in my right breast that did not hurt at first, a few days later my entire right breast is tender. So i'm guessing a really bad cyst; however my left breast doesn't ache at all. It's normal.
My period if it were maintained would have been due Oct 22...so it's 13 days late by my standards, even though I know it can go anywhere from 35-60 days between one. Anyway, I did cramp last saturday and I did not go to the gym that day, then it went away after I took some Naproxen; it came back monday, cramps for a few hours, then gone. And have been gone until I went to the gym today. Well, after I got done with an intense 30min treadmill jog/run I started cramping pretty bad, then when I got home I noticed some spotting. The cramping has subsided for the most part, but idk; maybe I am just freaking out. but I don't think that's really normal, i've never experienced this before and spotting right after the work out is even stranger. This is new to me.
For those that question pregnancy...i've got zero preggy symptoms. no nausea, boobs don't hurt, except for the cyst in the right one, i'm not fatigued. However, I have been since last week, pretty dang moody. One day i'm happy go lucky, next day i'm thinking negative thoughts, tired and hate the world. Which is pretty much how I get right before a period, lol
I called Planned Parenthood and they didn't sound worried at all, lol....but I would like to hear other experiences from other ladies that around that time of the month experience pms cramps; and those with the copper IUD experience them worse the longer the iud is kept in. Thanks!

That's strange. I have the copper IUD too and haven't had any problems with it. That being said, I get AWFUL cramps during most of my periods. I'm not sure if it's me or a side-effect of the IUD and I've had it in for about 6 years. Try talking to your doctor if you're really concerned. Sometimes I get weird cramps after I work out and I'm not PMSing. We are women with fickle bodies. I'm sure you're ok.0

I'm really waiting to see what others are writing.
I too missed my period on 22nd Oct and have been suffering from pms like symptoms. I am not pregnant and I not on any medication either. But pelvic pain is killing me. So are the mood swings. And I can tell the pain starts after working out. I'm doing pretty low impact cardio exercises so not sure what's going on.0 -
3 ADVIL LIQUID GELS WILL DO! GO HOME AND LAY DOWN!0

I've noticed that I get more crampy after I've worked out. I have the Mirena, so close to but not the same as the copper. Typically, just laying down flat on my back and letting everything stretch out helps tremendously.0

Hmmm....I have no idea about all those other symptoms but I do know when you make a drastic change in diet and exercise, your period most likely will become irregular or missed all together.0

I've never had a copper IUD, but I've known of someone who has and if they're not right for you... they really SUCK. The IUD should be making your period go like clockwork if it's right for you. Believe me, I tried the patch plus three different pills before I found the right hormone combination/dosage that worked for my cycle. Now I'm more predictable than ever and I rarely have cramps.
Sometimes cramps can come from running... but they're not the same as menstrual cramps... look up jogger's trot. It's not fun, especially if you have a sensitive stomach/bowel.
I would definitely recommend you get your gyno's advice on the IUD. If you're spotting, missing periods consistently in the absence of pregnancy, having terribly irregular periods, and cramping heavily when you're NOT on your period, that might be a sign that the IUD (or something else...?) is not working right.
It's my understanding that birth control (most forms, anyhow) are designed to regulate your cycle and alleviate PMS symptoms IF it's the right kind of birth control for YOUR body. Definitely talk to a doctor, sweetie, and I hope you feel better soon!!!!0 -
My first thought was are you positive it is a cyst on your breast? I guess that stood out to me the most that you might want to get that checked just to be sure. On another note I have this happen about a week before I actually start and maybe a couple days after I am done. I honestly think it is just my body adjusting to the intensity of my workouts. My cycle is also messed up due to the change in my fitness and diet but that is very normal for me. I don't think you have anything to worry about but if you do not start soon I would definately just go see your doc to be sure there is nothing wrong. Never want to risk your health.0

I agree with the above are you sure that its a cyst? I would get that out check ASAP and make sure that it is a cyst and not breast cancer. My Doc told me if I feel any lumps or bumps on my breast to have it checked out. Best of luck.0 -

The mirena IUD is the only one that contains hormones to balance your period. I chose to get the copper IUD because it lasts up to 10 years and it's hormone free. I have in the past taken pills and the nuva ring, i did like having a period every 28 days and knowing it right on it's way, no weird symptoms as I get with the copper iud. Now the copper iud itself, causes intense cramps, sometimes feeling like labor pains; and heavier bleeding, all that is normal with it. Just the cramps after working out is new.
And i've had runners cramps in my abdomen before, that's very different than pms cramps0 -

Cysts run in all the women in our family, breast cancer does not. This lump is quite different than usual pea size round balls, I've called some cancer societies and free health clinics that offer ultrasounds, but everyone is out of funding, I have no insurance and right now i'm working 2 days a week, so getting it checked is not an option.0 -
