Bump.... Peanut butter is hands down my love! I'm ticked the prices are expected to triple!0

I love them both - but seeing as they are so high in calories they are a no-no for me. They just ake up too much of my daily calorie allowance to be worth it!0

How is almond butter?
I love the almond butter...it is a healthier nut. I have a place close by that has a machine right there that grinds it fresh, its awesome and I KNOW nothing extra is getting in there0 -
I am surprised I haven't seen anyone post anything about PB2. If you haven't heard, PB2 is a powdered peanut butter and it's awesome! I first learned of it from a nutritionist a few years ago and I've been so thankful for it. I get to enjoy my peanut butter without throwing my diet out of whack!
PB2 is powder so you simply measure out a serving, adding water, mix and enjoy. It's 80% less fat & calories than standard peanut butter, but ALL the flavor & texture of real. I've been using it for a few years now and I love it. I use it on toast & it's great for making homemade protein bars.
Google: PB2 for more info. You can purchase at a variety of well known websites (Amazon.com) and local store distribution is on the rise too. The maker's website is here: http://www.bellplantation.com
Traditional 2 Tbsp – 190 calories Calories from fat - 130 Saturated fat – 3 grams
*PB2 2 Tbsp – 45 calories Calories from fat – 13 Saturated fat – 0 grams0 -
Love Nutella but I can't keep it in the house, too tempting. I might try this recipe for the sake of research
I just browsed through a bunch of homemade Nutella recipes and liked the look of this one the best. The blogger pointed out that the LA Times printed a very similar recipe. The LA Times recipe has the calorie info so here are both links.

pb is just more versatile. Nutella on apples would just be odd... its good on bananas but pb is something you can do a lot more with if you dont want chocolate. Its like comparing chocolate milk to milk. Sure you can use chocolate milk with lots of stuff but its not a base like milk is0

NUTELLA IS NOT FOOD, IT'S AN ICING!!! (Okay no more yelling). Nutella has very little nutritional value compared to natural nut butters, so with that said, in moderation, Nutella is wonderful as a treat, but if you don't like icing on your toast every morning, stick with the PB.
So growing up all the fat kids in class ate nutella sandwiches. That was a huge red flag for me!
I've tried it before and it is so amazingly delicious !! If you want some just eat tiny bits. Its not good for weight loss.... it IS like icing, its a dessert!! Go for peanut butter... but better yet go for the really nutritious one: Almond butter0 -
Depends on the type of peanut butter. I suggest you look into a more healthy alternative. Even sunbutter, while equal in calories, has a lot more nutritional benifits over most kinds of peanut butter. Just the same, powder mix peanut butter is 1/3 the amount of calories of regular peanut butter0

I love Nutella. That said, I don't buy it - I do, however, periodically buy the Justin's Chocolate Peanut Butter individual packs if I need a sweet treat. One individual portion-sized packet (2 tbsp) has 170 calories, 13g fat, 75mg sodium, 11g of total carbohydrate (2 fiber, 7 sugar), and 5 grams of protein. I'm not sure how that stacks up against Nutella but imho it seems more comparable to peanut butter than any other sweetened nut butter.0

instead of nutella which is packed with sugar try hazelnut butter - it is basically nutella without the sugar and without the chocolate - but you can add a bit of cocoa powder and it becomes a really healthy delicious nutella!0

Weightloss aside I love both.....especially together on toast! X0

i love pb but saying that i absolutely LOVELOVELOVE nutella! Also for me, one spoonful of nutella, and that is it - the whole jar is gone. So as amazing as it is, I try to stay away.0

In Germany I grew up with Nutella. We used to eat it on bread (Broetchen) and some people even put butter underneath. Also people eat it in on top of pancakes over there. Neither Nutella nor Peanut Butter are good for weightloss. But they both taste very good. Thats the mean thing.0

Will definitely try it out thanks0 -
I love both nutella and peanut butter... but natural peanut butter is better for you since it has no added sugar. I get the stuff at Winco, but I've seen it at Fred Meyer, maybe Safeway has it, and any natural food store. Basically it's a grinder that holds peanuts and grinds them there without adding any extra junk. Almond butter is super yummy too. Try to go for the better peanut butter that doesn't have added sugar and junk.
Peanut butter is full of fat and calories though, so you have to watch portion control very carefully.
(Nutella just tastes so FREAKING amazing... I could eat a whole tub myself.. in one sitting.)0 -
PB is better for you. Considering it's a natural one like Maple Grove.
Nutella is a nice treat on occasion.
Cashew butter is unrealistically delicious !!! Although expensive.0 -
Nutella! The clouds part, a beam of sunshine comes down on your delicious slice of utopia, and the angels sing: "AAAAAHHHH!" It's the greatest ever. I put it on a slice of soft white bread as a VERY occasional treat. Lots of calories in that stuff.0

I prefer almond butter and I mix it with some cocoa powder and stevia to get my chocolate fix.0
-
I can't imagine that Nutella is that good for you nutritionally but oh my word it's gorgeous!! Nutella on a slice of wholemeal toast is one of my favourite treats.0
-
I LOVE Nutella! but first choice fresh Almond butter.
Affordable when you make it at home. Almonds in a food processor, ta-da! Almond butter0 -
Loved it. Just don't buy it because I thought it had to many calories. And it don't taste like peanut butter its chocolate so good.0
-
Is that all you do is put the almonds in a food processor and its done. No oil.0

AWESOME!0 -
I heard the prices of peanut butter was going up. I bet if we all stopped buying it for a while the prices would come back down.0
