I know a lot of people eat back their workout calories.
But I don't always do it, I feel theres no point because then your just eating the calories you burned, making the work out pointless.
What are your veiws on this ? Do you eat them back? why or why not?
Feel free to add me!

When MFP calculates your calories you should be eating a day, it doesn't take into consideration your gym. They already cut out the calories that you need to not eat in order to loose your goal (1-2 pounds a week) without even going to the gym. So if you go to the gym, your body needs more food and energy, and so you should be eating back your calories! Look up the many posts on here that explains how MFP works and you'll see that eating back your calories is very important for your weight loss. You should be looking at staying between -100 to + 100 calories left at the end of the day.0

I'm co-signing this. One of the best explanations I've seen yet! Good luck!0 -
I sometime do but generally don't. If I eaten enough and I feel satifsfied on my daily allowance, why eat more? Although on some weekends and nights out, I def. eat/drink those extra exercise calories burned back! I still want to loose quite a bit so maybe thats why, when I'm maintaining it might be different!0

I usually eat back at least 200-300 of the calories I burn, especially on burns that are between 500-700. When MFP calculates your calories it is based off of doing nothing extra during that day. Therefore if you burn calories during exercise you need to eat back some of them to give your muscles energy. I know some people on here who eat ALL their calories everyday and are very successful. It really comes down to the food choices you make too.0

I dont generally eat back the calories for the sake of it (however the MFP police will tell you you absolutly MUST eat back the calories or you will DIE!!!) however if i know i am going out for a meal or having a few glasses of wine then i will have a walk and then use the calories. I can not see the point of eating for the sake of it - if you are loosing weight at the rate of 1 - 2lbs a weeks then what your doing seems fine :flowerforyou:0

Some people find that after some fabulous losses they hit a plateau, if you are not eating back the exercise calories and you hit a plateau, try to and see if it helps. Make sure your body is well fueled for the energy you are expending.0

I never used to eat back the calories, but after reading up on it I decided to give it a try and I am finally losing weight and eating more than ever. So I am a believer!0
