I need HRM help!

My hubby bought me a HRM so I could track my calorie burn more accurately. However, I think I did something wrong. After an hour of Zumba, it showed I only burned 139 calories. I know that cannot be right!

This is the first HRM I've used.... any suggestions?

(Oh, it is the kind that looks like a watch.)

Do you have the setting right? You have to input your information to get an accurate reading.

Does it have a part that you put your info in? Like your age, weight, height? Do you have your chest strap on properly? Couple of things to check. I have a Garmin FR60

I wear my HRM to Zumba and burn about 400-500 per 60 minute class. I think yours might be a little off...I'd check the settings, adjust your chest strap (sometimes during the workout it might say 'check heart rate transmitter', so watch out for that).

Do you have a chest strap to go along with the watch? Make sure the electrodes on the strap are sufficiently wet.

Also, make sure your age, height and weight are inputted in the watch as well.

Thanks gang... I figured it out.

I took two identical walks today--both very short, quick paced.

With the HRM on the outside of my wrist, I burnt 3 calories. (I think you burn more than that sneezing!) On the inside of my wrist, I burnt 57 calories.
