oatmeal tuna cakes.
I made up this recipe looking for an easy high protein meal and snack.
One can light tuna 6 ounces. 175 cal
16 ounces of egg whites. 240 cal
2 cups of quaker oatmeal. 600 cal
Beat the egg whites until they are fluffy.
Add the quaker oats let it soak for 10 min
Blend the tuna in blender add a tbsp water.
Stir that into the oat egg mixture then make very small cakes in a muffin tin an inch high.
Put a few dry oatmeal grains on top.
Cook in oven for 7 min on 350-400f.
option: add mae ploy thai green curry paste 1tbls
option 2: capers, parsley
cal per cake = 1015 / how many cakes you make

They are really good with the curry paste.

Sounds really yummy, couple of questions though - how many eggs approximately make 16 ounces of egg whites? and cals per cake - are they seriously 1015???0 -

they work out to about 100- 130 cal. per cake depending how thick you make them
1015 cal divided by the amount of cakes you make.
i just made a corn version:
Blend together:
one can tuna
puree corn equal to tuna
3 tbsp cornmeal
parmesan on top with oats.
other then that i did the same as the other recipe.0 -
i made these and all i have to add is: dont make these too thick....i also think next time i will add some spices...they seemed blah to me...
maybe im just too used to eating tuna salad with pickle and onion and i was expecting more flavor...
overall i think i think ill make these again0
