I have a hard time drinking ANYTHING! (except maybe a few beers on the weekend ).
I recently bought a 24oz water bottle and have gotton thru 1/2 of it so far..........
It's not that I even mind the 'taste' of water (does water really have a flavor?!?)......I AM JUST NOT THIRSTY!
Anybody else with this problem?

From my experience, my body slowly adapts to an increase in water intake. But, it's also a good idea to listen to what your body needs. Too much water isn't good just as not enough isn't good either.0

Me either. I have to force any type of liquid. I can go a whole day and just take a drink with my medicine. I never miss it.0

You drink tea0

Yes, water has a flavor. Or rather, what is in the water has a flavor. Can you not tell the difference between spring water from different sources? Surely you can tell a difference between Evian and Poland Spring and Fiji and tap water?
Anyway. I would expect that you will develop more of a thirst gradually. But remember that you do get some water from food sources, too.0 -
is it ice water? Sometimes when I know I need to drink some but just can't seem to want to I find if I add ice I am able to drink it more...you could try that if you are not already.0

And yeah looking at your diary, you drink tea or coffee every day, and you seem to have a lot of soup as well. I don't know why you are saying you don't ever drink anything when your diary says otherwise.0

If you're hungry try drinking some water before eating. Some people mistake thirst for hunger. It's actually pretty common as I understand it.
Just a thought.0 -
Remember, all water is is the purest way to get the amount of fluid you need a day. Not the only way. As mentioned above, you drink tea, coffee, soup, etc. You are getting plenty of hydration, which is probably why you aren't thirsty!0

I don't actually drink that much. I don't care for water or soda. I'm definitely not dehydrated. If I do half hour to one hour workout I sometimes don't even bring a water bottle to the basement with me. I do drink lots of coffee and tea during the day. Maybe that's how I keep hydrated.0

I agree with this! It's very common to confuse the two. I say, keep the water bottle with you while at work and just every so often take a sip.. then see if after a week of this you start to really notice a difference between thirst and hunger.0 -
I find that I drink more with a straw... and instead of a 32 oz cup filled 2x (8 glasses of water), I now use a 18oz cup filled 4x (10 glasses of water) and get more water faster. I would still be drinking the second 32 oz when I left work. Now I am done with the 4th 18 oz before I leave.
I didn't like water when I started in Jan... I used the walmart version of crystal light. Only 10 calories and I put one packet in the 32 oz bottle (they can be strong). Now I don't need to flavor my water. I also count tea (I only drink hot) to my water intake since it has zero calories and is in the water
Edit: Yes I logged the flavoring packets in my diary0 -
Not everyone needs 8 cups of water a day like this site suggests. If your body isn't telling you you're thirsty, you should be fine with the amount of fluid you're consuming. If in doubt, look at the colour of your urine. If it's clear or light yellow, then you're fine. If it's darker you should try to drink more.0

Thanks for all the suggestions.........
Just to clarify, I know that I am drinking tea / coffee and that they can be considered water (maybe not coffee??) BUT this time of the year I am basically drinking the tea to warm up, not because I am thirsty.
Never thought of soup as a part of my water intake......so thanks for letting me know that!0 -

Agree! Every "body" is different.0 -

Yes, coffee as well. In fact, if you are a regular drinker your body gets so good at extracting the water it's practically the same as water, but with added health benefits!

This is how people get dehydrated...when it's not hot people don't think about drinking as much but you still need the water...If you are even a little bit dehydrated it not only slows your progress but it could give you headaches and even make your immune system weaker....get colds a lot? Maybe you need more water. Anyway still try to get your water in every day even when its cold and you don't think you need it...Maybe make some warm green tea with your water.0 -

I don't, but I had a collegue who does. Her doctor told her that it's not uncommon. Some people just don't have a good sense of thirst or their bodies confuse it with hunger. She put a reminder on her Outlook calendar and just had a cup of water every so often.0 -
