NSV - Lipid Panels

Every year at work we get blood work done and they tell us just how healthy we really are. These numbers then go onto a web site that we can access and view our total health history. I guess that is the upside (or downside) of working in the Health Care industry. I started this journey for a healthier lifestyle about 45 days ago and I had my blood drawn again this week to have a new lipid panel done testing my cholesterol. For the first time since I have started at this company ALL of my cholesterol numbers fell in the optimal range. Since my last test 5 months ago my LDL dropped from 154 mg/dL to 98 mg/dL.

Being able to quantify how much of an impact these changes have made for me really put a smile on my face today.

Fantastic! Kudos and congrats on your success!

I started MFP as a way to bring down my elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels. I'm happy to report that three months later, my recent blood work was categorized by my doc as "excellent." All numbers...cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL, HDL...were good. Following a low-fat, low-cholesterol meal plan with regular exercise and, of course, logging my foods here, helped immensely!

No doubt that positive lifestyle changes really DO help! : )
