Okay I actually hate allergies. I live in Texas, an area hit very hard by the drought and I've never had worse allergies. When I took nothing I could hardly get any sleep at night and would get a sore throat due to post nasal drip at least once a month. Daily allergy forecasts are over 7.

I take allegra d or claritin d. I recently didn't take it for a few days and we had a dust storm and boom. A couple of days later I have a sore throat due to postal nasal drip.

I really wish I had other options but it seems I'm going to have to take this medicine forever or eventually move further south where humidity is higher but then I'd have issues with pollen. There is no winning with allergies.

I'm in a suburb of Houston and have found the eating local honey helps as does the netti pot. I've also found Zyrtec to work well too.

have you tried a neti pot? you fill with warm water and a little salt....it's a bit awkward at first, but it does help. it really helps with my allergies and i use it daily. if you don't know what it is, google it. most pharmacies now carry them.

if mine get horrible, I will also take a reactine.

I hate allergies...had them all my life (my dad said when he turned 70 he didn't have them anymore...so I have to wait...great!)

I did allergy shots (immunotherapy) for a while and the following Fall I didn't get that post nasal drip. But then I moved and changed jobs and the allergist near me didn't have hours I could go. I highly reccommend them though.

It definitely made a difference because I try to avoid taking medication for it. Right now I stick to Ayr saline spray(non-medicated).

    It's also one of the reason I can't run/jog outside. :(

Zyrtek every single day, Allergy Drops every single day and I don't have issues anymore :)

You should see an allergist, mine saved my life. Ok not really, but kinda... not only did I have off the charts inhalant allergies, but food allergies as well (all fruits, raw veggies, etc). I can now actually eat a raw apple - quite the revelation for me.

I'm right there with you. Mold is really high here right now..I ran outside Tuesday and Thursday and when I got home I could not stop sneezing, my eyes watered...horrible. I'm taking Claritin and it doesn't seem to work well. My poor son is on Zyrtec, Singulair and Nasonex.

I have seasonal allergies year round but they're the absolute worse in the spring. Maybe I'll stop having allergies when I turn 70. that would be so nice! Only 12 more years.
