Super yummy autumn dessert!! Original recipe was 631 calories per serving! This is 460 calories/49 carbs/24 fat grams per serving so you might want to split a serving w/ someone special!! It is melt in your mouth delish!!

3 (8 ounce) cans low fat refrigerated crescent rolls
3 large Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and cut into 8 wedges each
1-1/2 cups Promise margarine, melted
1-1/2 cups Splenda
1 tablespoon and 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1-1/2 (12 fluid ounce) cans or bottles caffeinated diet citrus-flavored soda (such as DIET Mountain Dew®)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Unroll the crescent roll dough, and separate the sheets into individual triangles. Roll each apple wedge into a triangle of dough, and place them into the baking dish, seam sides down.
Mix the melted margarine, Splenda, and cinnamon in a bowl, and spoon evenly over the dough-wrapped apple slices. Pour the soda over the rolls.
Bake in the preheated oven until the top is browned, the apples are cooked through, and the cobbler is bubbling, 45 to 50 minutes.

12 SERVINGS!!

Like I said...split a serving w/ someone or just take 1/2 a serving. Take it for Thanksgiving dinner and share it w/ others and don't bring home the leftovers. A lot better than a big piece of pecan pie w/ a heap of extra creamy cool whip on top!!

Question: why on God's green earth would you use a sugar substitute with a sugared soda? Why not just use sugar?

Why would anybody bake with Diet Sodas?

My husband and I wondered the same thing and all we can figure is that it helped it from being so "heavy". I think the carbonation gives it a lift. LOL...try it!

splenda and refrigerated dough and soda...

Aren't those what makes the world go around?

    On the other side....
Could you lose the crescent rolls and use unbaked tortillas instead. Maybe use spray butter instead or margarine.
As for the diet citrus soda...maybe an alternative?? Low sugar apple juice & club soda??

    Just a few thoughts!
