      You look awesome! It saddens me to see you and others use the word "shame" to describe your feelings about yourself pre-weight loss or pre-"good enough" weight loss. :( You're valuable people regardless!!

      Unfortunately it is the way many obese people feel about their bodies. I am one of them. We see the looks that some people give and hear the whispers and see the thin bodies represented in advertisements. We get it and some of us cannot help how we look or weigh due to medical issues and because of the way that we are treated some of us do feel ashamed. My Husband is one of them. He is a large guy (and is working with me to lose weight) but he does have a large chest and is embarrased to take his shirt off in front of people. which is part of why we downgraded our gym membership to be for 1 location only and without a pool because he wont get in it if he has to take his shirt off. it makes me sad because he is the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful man and he is judged by his looks and not is personality.

      This is when I weighed 291 lbs. I was so ashamed I couldn't even take my shirt off. this was probably one of the lowest points in my life. December 2009

      Here I am today 50 lbs lighter and though I still have about 35 lbs to lose I am ashamed no longer.
