Ok guys for the past 2 years ive been working at a dry cleaner and there are certain things that customers do that drive me insane here are some of them.
1. You hang up your dirty clothes (why just why?)
2. You leave your shirts buttoned up
3. You leave your clothes inside out
4. You leave tissues in your pockets
5. You complain constantly about prices (no they haven't changed since the last time you were here two days ago)
6. You bring an item back saying we put a stain on your garment (yes because that's our job to put stains on your clothes and we really do wanna waste our time when you come back to complain about it and we also wanna waste more time and money redoing your item for free)
7. You leave your underwear in your pants (this is easily solved we clean their underwear charge $2 and hang them up with their clothes so they know we saw them they never do it again)
8. You just constantly complain about everything period (if your not happy with us and we do such a ****ty job why do you keep coming back?)
9. You come back with an item saying we didn't do it correctly when in fact you never brought that item in (every garment that comes through our store is individually labeled and described into our system by garment type, color, pattern and brand name so we know your lying our system stores everything you've ever brought in)
10. You are told your garments will be ready at a certain time and you come in hours before that time and get mad when they aren't ready
11. You have one of our garment bags and decide to shove your hangers, plastic, paper into the bag with your clothes (im sorry we are not your trash can)
12. You come into the store and expect me to know your name (Are you famous? Are you an extremely good customer? kus if you were i would know who you are)
13. You come in for the first time dont ask how much its going to be are given a price list and then you come pick up your clothes and are like omg why so much ive never payed that much your so expensive! (#1 we arent a discount cleaners #2 just because its what you paid somewhere else doesn't mean you should assume everyone charges the same #3 if your gonna be concerned about the price ask when you drop it off or at least look at the price list we gave you)

Here's something i find funny
When people think that their clothes get cleaned in the machine by themselves ha yea right

Here's something gross
When people wear their clothes more than once mainly men with the business shirts and their collar is brown. Honestly please clean your clothes more often if you don't there's a higher chance that stain wont come out and its bad for your clothes.

the ones i hate the most are the customers that leave their shirts buttoned up inside out sleeves rolled up drives me crazy oh and people who complain about prices

Ok im done venting about my customers but seriously if you do some of these they probably aren't a big fan of you at least i wouldn't be lol that being said i love my job and most of my customers are pretty amazing but hey there's things everyone doesn't like about their job

LOL, I totally thought you were going to say, "does your dry cleaner hate you because you have taken the same item to be taken in a bunch of times?"

But I hear you on crappy customers. Not fun at all.

The underwear thing is funny, though, I would love to see someone picking up dry cleaning with a pair of panties hanging in the bag!

I do none of those things. My dry cleaner is probably building a shrine in my honour right now.

You don't want my shirts hung up, you don't want them inside out , you don't want the sleeves rolled, you don't want them buttoned, you don't want me to sweat on my collar.

So, basically, I should pick my shirt up from you. Take it home, throw the hanger away, unbutton it, fold it up nicely, and bring it back for another cleaning?

You work in the service industry, get over it.

With the underwear thing it could be an honest mistake. Have your never taken off your clothes for a shower and had your underwear stay in your pants? Maybe they didn't notice. I don't think people are trying to get their underwear washed for free.

I'm glad that my wardrobe is mostly machine-wash, no iron type stuff! :-)

    LOL!!
What about starch... My husband loves his shirts with extra starch, so much starch that when we bring the shirt back for cleaning they are still crispy?!!
#12 - They know me... they have my Dry Cleaning hanging out for me when I pull up.. LOL. Must be because of the shirts.
#11 - To be fair, my Dry Cleaner recycles their hangers and covers...maybe it's just a program they'd like for you to start

    Thanks for the laugh!

It usually is lol but seeing their faces when they see their undies hanging up is priceless
  • True story: I've never cared how much my dry cleaning costs. I took in my best formal dress to be cleaned and when I got it back, it was limp and creased. I could never wear that dress again, and it had cost $250. I hate dry cleaners.

starch doesnt really bother me and we actually do recycle and reuse hangers we provide caddies for them to be placed into but i dont like when they throw them in their bag because they get tangled, they get broken and they can damage their clothes

some of those are excellent points... others seem a little nit picky... like unbuttoning shirts. seriously?

do you scrape your plates at restaurants and stack your dishes for the busboys at the restaurants you eat at? I am sure that if you did, they would not hate you too.

I am sure that it is perfectly fine at Denny's with your family, but if you go into a fine dining establishment or have a meal with colleagues I wouldn't advise it.
