If you have time, could you post some recommendation for fitness books, diet, exercise, exercise and diet, emotional eating, science and nutrition. I have found book recommendations in the midsts of threads but I would love to have a bunch of recommendations in one place. It would be particular useful to know why the book resonated with you and your fitness goals.

The new rules of lifting for women... That's the only one I can think of.0

I find monthly magazines have some good articles and tips in. I like Mens Health and Ultra Fit. I find they help me keep motivated each month and inspire me with a new routine or recipe etc.0

Fitness books:
"The New Rules of Lifting for Women" - Lift like a man, look like a goddess. By Lou Schuler and Alwyn Cosgrove
"Body for Life" - 12 weeks to mental and physical strength. By Bill Phillips
Reasons:
Too many to list all of them, but...the bottom line is nothing will help you transform your physique more than weight lifting. It helps you lose weight, it reduces your body fat%, increases your strength, provides more energy, burns calories even while you sleep, helps you perform everyday tasks, avoids the dreaded "skinny fat" look, the list goes on and on.
You can also use Amazon.com's search & sort features to get a list of diet and fitness books all in one place. An added benefit is the customer reviews which will show you the reasons why people recommend them.0 -
I agree with the magazines. I subscribe to Shape, Fitness, and Self and find them very motivating and they include great workout tips. In fact, I trained for my second 5K using a Begginer 5K workout in Fitness magazine.

I really love "The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises".
If you are looking for more of the mental and emotional aspects of eating, I have heard that "Mindful Eating" and "Intuitive Eating" are good reads, but I have not personally read them myself.0 -
Shrink Yourself - Roger Gould
Constant Craving - Doreen Virtue
The Yo-Yo Diet Syndrome - Doreen Virtue
All of the above deal with emotional, comfort, binge eating0 -
Body for Life - Bill Phillips
All of the Dr Oz books.0 -
MASTER YOUR METABOLISM by Jillian Michaels--life changing for me!!
The Five Factor Diet by Harley Pasternak- very good advice as well. He's the one who got Jessica Simpson into those DaisyDukes years back, and worked out Halley Berry for catwoman I think!!0
