Adderall

So, just curious. I have been put back on this. When I used to take it I lost weight super fast without trying. But at the time it wasn't a good thing!
After 4 years off of it, maybe I forgot the side effects, but I am feeling sooo nauseatied all day. Some days to the point I can barely make it to 1200 calories, and my workout is the 30day Shred Level 1 since its easier and fast to get through.
Just curious if anyone else is on this and if they feel that way too? I've been on it almost 3 months now, but this just started in the last month or so.

I'm on it as well.
Whenever I take it, all I want is water. No food. It makes it easy to NOT eat, but we all know that's not a good thing.
The most I can suggest is just to train your body to eat more. It'll get easier. Aim to meet your numbers, regardless of your hunger.
And drink lots of water! Your body will want it.0 -
When i used to take it, i never was hungry either. It's a big-time stimulant so it tend to suppress appretite anyway. It's similar to cocaine. When people get high they A. are not hungry but more importantly B. sometimes FORGET that food exists! have healthy snacks on hand at all times and maybe set some alarms to go off each day at certain times. when they go off, eat. that will help get some stuff into you!0

adderall gave my a personallity disorder as well as Addicitve OCD. it did make me lose weight, but not in a good way. IF it works for you in the way of ADD or ADHD, great. but dont use it as a weight loss thing. It messed up my life and i rebounded putting on 40 extra pounds... No Bueno0

When I stopped taking this is when I gained all my weight. The reason was because it made me have horrible eating patterns. I remember going all day not eating then stuffing myself at night when I realized I hadn't eaten. The pill was keeping my weight in check eating this way...but when I got off it I had no idea how to properly fuel my body. My advice would be to be careful and make sure you are eating enough.0

I used to take this BECAUSE of its appetite suppressant and manic-emotive qualities. I do not have ADHD - Not good!!
I didn't realise it acted the same way on the appetite if you actually need it. That must be kind of tough when you're trying to be healthy Sorry, no advice really. Hope you get something worked out though.0 -
I do not take this but I am a nursing student taking pharmacology. Loss of appetite, nausea, and weight loss are common side effects of Adderall. The drug is an amphetamine (speed), which is what most weight loss drugs are. My advice is to try to make the food you do eat high in nutrition, as it makes sense that you might not feel like eating a lot. Good luck.0

I hate adderall and think its dangerous poison. THere are other "alternative" avenues/therapies you could try instead. I only say that because Adderall is currently ripping our family apart because the user is abusing it. Its terrible for your body. Its says Amphetamine right on the bottle.0

adderall is called (the poor mans coke). It gives you roughly the same high as cocaine does. I am a Nursing Assistant and i know that If you are not hungry and all you want is to drink water and you feel nauseated then you need to be put on a smaller milligram or maybe try taking it at a different time of day. Since it is an amphetamine like most weight loss pills it will make you feel that way. Your best bet is to eat something in the am before you take your pill or if you have the pills that arent capsules cut them in have and just take half of a pill. You may need to speak to your dr about it. Good luck to you0

This hits home... very hard. I abused it, as well as other prescription pills. I took 200+ MG a day of adderall xr just to get out of bed. Guess where it all landed me? In jail, bankrupt, and finally in rehab. My family went through years of hell, and there is no way to undo what I put them through. I hope the person in your family gets help before they end up where I did... but unfortunately some people have to hit rock bottom before they get help. I hope to work in drug treatment and counseling and help people like my former self. I stole from loved ones, and eventually began forging and altering prescriptions. Now, my life is basically ruined with two felony drug charges. All I am saying is that this is poison to some. For some people, they can take it responsibly for years and never abuse it...but I definitely think that doctors are TOO QUICK to prescribe. They are giving people meth, and not very lightly. My doctor gave it to me with no problem after I faked a few symptoms. I feel for you and your family, and hope that the abuser gets help. Is my story typical? no. But it's true. That person was not me. I would never do the things that I did while manic on massive doses of it, and the amount I needed to function was costing me around 500 dollars a week.
Oh, and I gained 30 pounds immediately after getting clean from all the pills, and then an additional 60 because I found out I was pregnant shortly after I stopped using. (thank God, because my beautiful healthy son is a reminder of how far I've come, and I probably couldn't have changed my life without him)0
