just wanted to tell all my new friends here that im excited and happy to be here with you on this amazing journey. i have lost 3 lbs in my first week. i invite any one out there to chat with me and share their success and failures so that we can grow and help each other in the process. looking forward to making new friends always dave

Welcome to MFP!! This place is filled with motivators and people who are so supportive!! I'm more than happy to help you through your journey!! I just posted my progress pictures today on here. I'm 6 pounds away from my goal weight. Congrats to you Dave on your first 3 pounds! Always remember one thing on your weigh in days, don't become discouraged if your weight loss is not the same every week. Your body is going to fluctuate daily. If you hit a plateau, don't give up. Change your exercise habits, that will help shock your body. I believe in having at least one bad day of the week. That should be the day you save your ONE big treat for. I don't believe in depriving yourself either. If you want a certain snack, have it in moderation. Instead of the whole thing, eat 1/4 or 1/2 of it. I used to be able to sit down and eat 6 or 7 cookies ,pieces of chocolate, a bag of chips..... not anymore. I have learned what it means to have Willpower and learned how to eat in small portions.
Hopefully those pieces of advice can help you through your journey. There are so many things you will learn here. Everyone is open and willing to answer or FIND an answer to your questions. :-)
