I got stuck for 4 weeks... Keep on keeping on. You are making a difference to your body even if the scales aren't saying so.

your at a plateau which is a good sign. your body is making metabolic changes from your exercise and nutritional needs. it is common for this to happen and can take 2-3 weeks for the changes to happen. same thing happened to me twice. i was stuck for 2 weeks but when i did finally lose i saw large drops of 5 and 7 pounds in a week. average time for change in a man 2 weeks for woman 3-4 weeks.
  • Whenever I get stuck, I fluctuate my calories to confuse my body. I eat 100-200 over my goal one day and then eat my goal calories the next to keep my body guessing. Also, eating every 2-3 hours is key to my weight loss. It keeps my metabolism working. I do breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a snack in between. Perhaps try it and see how it works for you :)
Eating less is not the key. You're body may go in to starvation mode and then hold on to the fat therefore causing a gain or a stand still.
  • oh wow, you see i didnt know all of this, i thought that in order to loose weight you shouldnt eat as much, for example ill go the whole day and eat about 500calories and ill do that for a week, and still no change what so ever :S hmm, so the more you eat in little portions the more you loose weight??
  • Yes, if you are not eating enough calories your body will think it is starving and hold on to fat for energy later. Eat more and eat frequently. Let me know how it goes for you :)

I would certainly say you seem to be the perfect candidate to read these threads
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/23912-links-in-mfp-you-want-to-read-again-and-again

They're super helpful and informative. You need to learn how to lose weight rather than 'diet'. Of all those threads, read these two first.
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/3047-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo

The best thing you can do right now is just start to read everything. Question everything you've ever been told/read about dieting ever and try and find the answers for yourself. Only then will you find out what works for you.

If I don't eat my calories and go way under my daily limits, it's been known for me to GAIN weight, as my body goes into hibernation and hangs onto every calorie and drop of fluid it can get!

I had a period of 4 weeks where I didn't lose an ounce, so I just played around... exercised a bit more one day, ate a few calories over another, snacked... totally fooled my body and I lost big time the next week. It may not work for everyone but at that time it worked for me.

Perseverance is the key - don't go back to old habits, and your body will reward you eventually!

:explode: I've been stuck at the same weight for 5(!!) weeks now... it's definitely getting frustrating to step on the scale every Sunday morning and see the *exact* same weight staring back at me. I'll keep on keepin' on, but being stuck stinks!
