Help with a birthday gift!

hey guys, My best friends birthday is coming up on Tuesday, and this year is the first year we've been doing gifts. I'm having a hard time coming up with a cool idea, one because I'm kinda low in the funds situation, and two, ive always been crappy at thinking up thoughtful gifts that arent super corny. Since she is a woman too, I feel I cant get too lovey with presents(but that's another story for another time) cause she has a boyfriend, so thats another variable.

SO I feel really crappy about not being able to come up with something on my own(other than a nice card, with a gift card or something) so I call on you guys. I know it's gonna be hard as hell to post 'thoughtful' ideas when all you know of someone is the vague description listed here. ANYWAYS.

I have to go out either today or tomorrow to do this, so Im REALLY hoping to not have to go the gift card route, but it'd be better than a card and a smile right?

    You could get her a card and take her out for lunch.
    Get her a CD or movie that she would like
    Buy her a book or 2 that she would enjoy
    Get her a subscription to a magazine that she likes

    What has she been talking about? Get her something that has interested her for awhile. Or if she has a special interest get something that deals with that. Either way it will not cause problems with the boyfriend but you will be able to give a gift to your friend that means something. :-)

    Well, originally it was gonna be like a go out and do something we havent done before, thing. If I had more dough, and she wasnt in school I was gonna suggest we goto the casino down south for a weekend trip type deal on my dime. Of course the keyword is "dime" :P

    BUUUUT there really isnt much we havent done before, like we've been friends for like 7 years and been pretty tight throughout all of it. I know she asked for the new pirates of the Caribbean movie on DVD, but if its on a list, I just assume someone else will have already got it, so I'm trying to go for surprising here.

    A framed picture of the two of you :3 or make her a mix cd?

    Maybe a nice perfume, body lotion, or a necklace/bracelet.

    Yeah, maaaaybe.

    Im probably gonna take a run out to walmart and see what theyve got, my spending limit is about 30 bucks so. Hopefully I can find something cool on the cheap. I dont WANT to do a giftcard thing, but if I have to, I'll get one for the whole mall so theres at least more options than one store, and turn that into like a chill session to go along with it. -shrug- its hard when its someone you know EVERYTHING about.
