Help for BED

I have been struggling with binge eating disorder for about 2 months now. I know this doesn't seem like a long time, but I binge practically every day; I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know if I can do this alone. I have okay relationships with my family and friends, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk to them about this. I am quite honestly terrified of going to see a therapist, but at this point, I am not sure if I have any other options. does anyone out there have any suggestions? even if i desperately wanted help, i'm not sure where i would turn.

Is there a support center for this? Maybe a call center where you could talk to someone anonymously? I understand not wanting to discuss it with family yet but you should talk to someone. My town has a free clinic where you can see a therapist if you don't make enough money to pay for one. Good luck, you'll be in my thoughts.

BED is a psychological disorder. As scary as it is, seeing a therapist may be your best option. Acknowledging that you need help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. Find someone who specializes in eating disorders- you will be happy you did. It will honestly be the best gift you've ever given yourself. They will help you regain control of your life, and give you tools to empower yourself. Please consider it. Message me if you have any questions or want to talk- I know how hard this is to deal with, but you can and will get though it.

Track what you are eating and when you see how many calories it may help you stop.

  • I have lived with compulsive eating for many years. What you have is an eating disorder. The same as anorexia or any other. Therapy will help if you are willing to allow it to help.

Why are you afraid of therapy? I was too. I didn't want to climb inside my head. It saved my life when I finally did. If I hadn't I would have either eaten myself to death or just up and committed suicide by now. There are a lot of programs available depending on where you live. If you need advice or help, please send me a personal message. I've been there.

Telling someone about my BED saved my life. Please, please get help. I hate to see others go through what I did...
