I've found that a baggy of baby carrots in the car helps a lot. Also checking out the nutrition info for the fast food restaurants is an eye opener. When I think it smells good I just remind myself just what's in most of it. Though you can make better choices these days. None of it is good for you, but some of it isn't as bad.
An interesting side not. Some of the salads have more fat in them than a burger. You can find nutrition info for all of the chains on line.
I've also found that cooking things ahead of time and then freezing them to be quite helpful. Many things can just defrost in the car while you're on the go.0 -
Try packing healthy snacks in your bag in case you get stuck on the road and get hungry. Fruit and veggies usually travel well and you can find some meal replacement bars that don't have a ton of sugar or other junk in them to help get you through until you can eat a real meal.
Another trick, imagine what you will look and feel like after you eat the junk at the drive thru0 -
I keep a bag of nuts/trail mix and a banana in my purse. I also like to stop in a super market and grab a yogurt and fruit or something from the salad bar if i'm hungry on the go.0

I stopped eating fast food for the most part. Every once in a while when I have a busy day I cave. If I'm not careful about what I order I pay for it. My body just doesn't like it any more. Eating a McDonalds hamburger any more makes me almost physically ill. The less of it you eat the less you'll probably want. At least that's what I've found true with me.0

I think it would be good for you to prepare any healthy meals/snacks in advance to take with you. Or if you do want junk food e.g. McDonalds, try and find a healthier option on the menu. A lot of places now have nutritional information on the internet.0

carry your favorite fruit with you.0

Order off the dollar menu if possible, they are smaller portions, drink water instead of pop, try the side salads they are usually healthier than the salad meals. I usually pack my lunches it keeps me on track but you can just be mindful when making choices. If I do go out to eat I search and see what is the best option then order from there. I went to applebees the other day, ordered then looked up my plate and only ate half which was 450ish calories and was more than enough and satisfying. The old me would have eaten the whole plate!!! EEK!! Losing weight doesn't mean you have to avoid eating out, but keep in mind the sodium so drinking water is important. Good luck!!!0

It seems like most are telling you not to eat out at any of those places.. For me, instead of jack in the box, mcdonalds, burger king.. Ill go to chipotle, subway, or every so often carls jr and get the turkey burger (not the perfect choice, but compared to the things I use to eat, in no way do i feel bad about it)..
Go on different websites for your favorite places, check out the nutritional table and see what they have on the menu that you might like that is also good for you.. IE Turkey burger instead of a double bacon western cheeseburger lol0 -
Keep your purse/wallet in the boot (trunk) of your car so you can't get at your money to pay whilst you're out driving around. Carrying healthy snacks with you is a good idea. Of course, part of this is just down to willpower - you need to get some of that too.0

Carl's Jr at one time offered a "low carb" option that was essentially a burger wrapped in lettuce. Quite tasty. I don't know if they still do. And I always forget about subway.0 -
I have a problem with this also, but that's because I work at Taco Bell. The trick is to bring healthy snacks/meals with you... or if you're too busy (or forget) you can get something small that doesn't have that many calories... taco bell actually has healthier choices than say, McDonalds, and you can order things fresco style which cuts out some calories and fat. Be mindful of the calories in items (fast food chains are required to have that information on hand, a lot of them have them posted on the menu boards now) so at least you can make wiser decisions if you have no other options than to resort to fast food. Good luck0

Never forget about subway! hahaha and yea, they still have the low carb burger, but its still high in calories, fat, cholesterol, and crazy high in sodium..0 -

I've found that true with most fast food. The sodium content in some of it is insane. It seem either high sodium or high fat. Guess that's why it can taste so dam good. It's not so much a matter of what's good for as it is what isn't going to give you a massive coronary after eating it.0 -
