I'm looking for a pedometer to count my steps but not sure what price I'm looking at for one that's accurate?

I review fitness products on Amazon and I tested a number of them awhile back. The best one I found and have mine on as we speak, is the Yamax PZ-271. Many are simply not accurate or have other disadvantages. I'm sure there are others just as good or better. But I recommend this one.

I just ordered the new Jawbone Up. It measures all movement and has lots of advanced features. But for just measuring steps, the Yamax is great. Also, it measures steps even if you just walk or run in place. Many do not.

I noticed this site and the app doesn't have a way to record steps and calories used. That's too bad.

Me too! Can't wait to get it! The pedometer I wear is a Silva Ex3 Connect. Wear it 24/7.....apart from when I'm in the shower.....can wear it round neck or on waistband.

I use the fitbit, it gives me my activity in steps and miles. YOu can use the following formula to convert miles to calories (# of miles x 0.5x body weight) which I borrowed from livestrong. I understand that this site is working on compatibility with fitbit which has a feature that wirelessly updates a log. I also use it at night when I sleep and it registers (loosely) the number of times I wake up and move around. It's small and discrete and I can wear it on my bra.
