Hello...am a mother of 4 and am celebrating my 4th anniversary of my 40th Birthday. Decided that I needed to lose some weight and am trying by trying to do a liquid diet for the next two weeks. I'm still trying to grasp this idea of more protein, the better but I'm having a hard time with what to choose to make sure I get my daily dose of protein....

Hi, certainly if you find something that works for you, then more power to ya, but personally I'm leery of liquid diets. At least for me, I am not on a diet, I have changed my eating lifestyle. That includes a multitude of elements including portion control, healthy choices, enough water as well as enough exercise, plenty of sleep and moderating stress. Far too many folks spend time and effort loosing weight with liquid diets only to gain it back when transitioning back to regular food. Just my .02. However, I salute your desire to get fit and wish you the best regardless of how you go about to achieve it.0

I'm a big fan of chili as a great source of protein. There are so many great recipes out there. This is one of my favorites here, though I do use the lower fat ground turkey rather than the dark meat turkey the recipe calls for. I have also made this with lean hamburger: http://www.wholeliving.com/recipe/turkey-chili

This is the truth. Once you come off that liquid and start eating real food again I'm sure you will pick the weight back up. Please, please stick around and look at all the other long term, sustainable and HEALTHY ways to get your body in shape. Peace and Love!0 -
I know how you feel I'm not a big fan of liquid diet either, but I'm having a minor surgery in two weeks and they want me "as clean" as possible inside...so I'm having to eat a light dinner but for the rest of the day is just protein shakes. But I'm having to learn to change my eating habits which I'm progressing towards but don't have the support...that's why the Dr. told me to join this website. My issue is making time to exercises, my 2 year old has separation anxiety and won't leave my side....even when I go to family oriented gym...he has to be next to me not in the room for the kids. I have older kids but they are in school when I want to work out and my husband is currently deployed. He bought the Zumba DVDs, and I love doing them so that's the only way I can get some exercise time. But I need help with making sure I'm eating the right food that has the protein I need.0
