protein! I like to broil fish or chicken with some lemon pepper, and some whole wheat pasta with olive oil and veggies, and usually find I am full for hours

Do you eat a lot of sweetened foods? I had hunger pangs until I cut out cane sugar. Now I only eat honey, maple syrup or agave nectar and it really made a difference. On days when I'm hungry, I eat high-fiber complex carbs. Really keeps me full. You can see my diary--try the 5-grain cereal.

Try a bit of balsamic vinegar in place or with the olive oil. OO is a great fat, but can add calories quickly. A bit of grated fresh parmigiano reggiano is a very flavorful use of fat. Remember: dried hard cheeses pack much more flavor than say, mozzarella.

But jonzo is right about protein. I find the key to these diets is finding foods that are worth their calories (no processed foods, unnecessary fats, white carbs...all bad) and then noshing. Greek yogurt, "sunburst" yellow tomatoes, a cup of coffee or espresso, a good apple, a big plate of steamed veggies...all great for eating every 2-3 hours. You'll find that it helps you transition.
