I am 50 yrs and just getting started. I am reading all the posts and I already feel overwhelmed. My goal is 60lbs. Could use any type of encouragement or advice you have to give me. Any other older persons out their doing this for the first time. Please feel free to contact me. :ohwell:

  • 47 years young here. I think you'll get out of this site what you put into it. I personally don't have a weight loss goal as much as a goal to live healthier. Any weight loss that I get from that is just BONUS. Feel free to add me if you like.

I am 58, and by far not an oldtimer! I saw someone on here that is 74. Welcome, add me as a friend if you like.

50 years old is not an OLD TIMER! Your just 21 years old with 29 years experience!
You goal is 60 lbs and that's fine but remember to take it one pound at a time and this is an adventure, enjoy the adventure!

    Add me if you wish!

No way - 50 is not an oldtimer - get to 80. then we"ll talk. I am 47 and been on MFP for about 5 weeks. Finding it very helpful - logging every day. good luck. Feel free to add me.

Let me share something exciting with you. Before Mfp I was mid 40s, but felt mid 60s! Now I feel mid 30s. Yippee. I'm not even half way to my goal weight yet! Can't wait to have the energy of a mid 20 year old! Of course it's not all easy street. You need to make healthy changes to your eating and movement (yes exercise) and you need to focus and be patient. Friend me if you want.
