Hi... could you use basketball instead? I'm pretty sure thats on here...0

You should invest in a good heart rate monitor with a chest strap --- then you never have to guess again.0

I play indoor netball too, GD, GK. I have only measured with a HRM during training for outdoor netball. It greatly depends on how hard you play, how much you weigh, and other very individual factors.
At a really really rough guess 40min game - 400cal..
I will record my cal's expended on Thurs night and let you know what that is0 -

You can't wear a watch in netball..
Very annoying, I'm going to take the bands off my non-waterproof HRM and put it in my bra when I play netball and use my waterproof HRM for everything else.0 -

Thanks Rachie that would be much appreciated. I understand it would only be an estimate. I will be getting a monitor soon so will have to do the same.0 -

Unfortunately No, Netball is a very different game & because I play keeper there isnt as much cardio involved. If I played center tho I could probably use it as a reference but I need to loose another 15kg before I even think about Center lol0 -
can you hide the watch in your pocket or something (or down your bra?). I can't wear my watch at volleyball as it would get in the way so it loop it onto my belt loop while i play.0

I dont think GK would burn 400 calories. It's a much less intensive position. I pitch in softball and approx the same time as a netball game goes (90 min but half the time is batting) and I est 300 cals. And it's a full body motion.0

Maybe not 400, good luck with hiding the hrm, I'm going to detach the straps to put mine in my bra0

I worked it out to be roughly 87cal per 10mins (so if it is a social indoor comp where the game sonly go for 40 minutes then the cals burned roughly are 348).
I guess this would increase or decrease depending on where you're playing, and the level you're playing at. But I am playing A-Grade, in the centre court and this is roughly what I burn.. usually a bit more. This is just a rough number without wearing a monitor of some sort every week.0
