NYBNY Challenge (closed group)

All,
We've recently had a lot of defections like one or two a week and that is causing a lot of problems with team scoring. I'm not getting all the results needed to post the winners each week from the teams and individuals. I personally have been going through a move at work, so between meetings about the move, packing and my normal work, my time on here has been limited.

So I think instead of challenges and tracking points and teams, maybe we can just encourage each other. No rules or requirements, just keep our group as a motivation to each other. Just friends, no competition just encouragement.

if you are having a bad day or a great day share your thoughts with the group and help each other out. My intention in starting this challenge was just for encouragement. Then things became more and more complicated and the original intention has been lost. So much has been focused on points and winning, we've missed that we are here to get healthier and we all have different ways of doing that.

So what do you think? Are you with me?? If you are in, just post a quick, I'm in or something, so we know who is still along for the ride.

PS..I would at the end of the year, like to tally up all our weight lost and see how we've done!

That's fine with me, it seems everyone is getting really busy. For me, for example I'm approaching finals (5 weeks) and teachers are making students step it up...

I've been there, I know what you mean. I actually was one of the few that lost weight in college, a combo of walking everywhere and constantly firing on all cylinders, but I loved it. Wish I was back in college all the time, beats the "real world"!

    That's the attitude! :drinker:
  • I'm in!! I can totally relate!! Things have been crazy hectic recently, and I'm getting a second job, so things will be even more hectic!!! The good part of the second job (besides the money!!!) is that I'll be moving around A LOT more than I do at my desk job!! :)

Not looking forward to the real world. Haha, although my career I'm planning on being crazy busy! And yeah, ever since I started losing weight I've noticed a lot of my friends are doing the same. It's incredible!

I think this sounds great. I know for me it will remove a lot of the stress. I'm trying really hard to make this a lifestyle change and sometimes the challenges have been making that difficult.
  • I'm definitely in. It's been getting pretty crazy lately, and I feel bad not being able to participate in everything.

I never thought of it that way. But that is a very good point!

I cant lie, I'm sad but TOTALLY understand. I am going to keep doing the challenges for this month. If anyone has the challenges from the past can u email them to me? I will still have to pretend that there is a challenge and that i have to do my best to get those daily challenges done. Its sad but i have to admit that I know myself and i know I am not yet disciplined enough to trust myself without some kind of "challenge" especially now that I have this back injury. I really appreciate this group and i would love to keep in touch. Thanks for everything y'all have done!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

Interesting tidbit: We've had 43 people participate in this challenge in total. That's so awesome that we've been able to connect with 43 people, we would otherwise have never know. And hopefully we've been able to encourage each other to do their best. I really hope I can reconnect with them all at the end of the year and see how everyone has done. Wouldn't that be awesome?

I'll second that, I'm bummed. I saw so much improvement through the challenges and the group's playful encouragement.

But life is life and it gets in the way. I'll check in here to share my encouragement.

If there is anyone still up for the challenges, I'm going to stick with them and do my best, even continue to chart my pts. I want to see it through as best I can
  • I understand where you are coming from, even though I am retired, my life seems busier than when I worked 40 hours a week, I really feel for you girls who have full time jobs, kids, husbands and still try to go to the gym, run, walk and exercise, then try to log all you do. It has to be overwhelming at times. I am definetly going to continue logging my food and exercise and will post as often as I can and will try to look at the board to see how everyone else is doing. I have really gotten alot out of this challenge and I will need you (Lorie) to keep me on track and I will try to keep you motivated as well. I am so proud of what you have done so far and want you to keep it up. Still looking forward to a new me by the new year! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!

    Sigh.......

Totally had my mojo going. Went to the gym, hit the treadmill and promptly TWEAKED MY ANKLE!!!!

Ok I hate the treadmills that wobble. This one wobbled and my water bottle went FLYING off my machine and I jumped to pick it up but stepped down on my bad ankle. The ankle that was almost 100% healed.

That stinks!!! Hope it gets better soon.

I am suffering from lack of planning this week. I didn't go to the grocery store this weekend. I was totally unmotivated as far as planning food for the week. I am going to start planning now for next week, so I can get this back on track. But I don't know if I will have a fridge or micro to use, we are moving to a new office building and I think they are taking the fridge tonight??? But no one at this point really knows who is going where or when . LOL, this is going to be a crazy week. But it will all be worth it. My office is going to be on the 12th floor and it is like 5 or 6 times bigger!!
