The book Eat Right 4 Your Type? It's about eating according to your blood type. Just wondering if any have read it/tried and and has it worked? Also, anyone know anything about food allergies being the cause of some weight gain? I'm just digging for answers/experiences.

My aunt and six cousins read that book and were very successful with it. They have all changed their lifestyles since, and they are in the best shape of their lives. I have never read the book, partially because I am primarily a vegetarian and if the book told me that I had to eat tons of meat I just couldn't do it. It's worth a read.

I have heard about this and am also curious to hear what others have to say. I have known people who have done the diet but not sure what kind of outcomes they had.

Jenna, you are probably an A blood type. The one who does best on a vegetarian diet. A blood types can eat meat if they like but need it less than all the other blood types.
Don't let the books discourage you from reading them. There is lots to learn, not only about yourself, but about all of humanity, history and science too!
I have all of the books and have done the Eat Right 4 Your Type for a numebr of years until about 6 months ago.
I now eat the foods I that are not the most beneficial to me in moderation as I have felt that I need the nutritional benefits from some of them.
I did very well with the Eat Right 4 Your Type recommended eating for my blood type for some time and then after a while my health started to deteriorate to some extent.
As a B blood type, I had to eliminate all nuts and seeds and their products as well as chicken.
I am permitted to eat more dairy than the other blood types and with knowing that I began to eat a little more of it. No too much and carefully. Things like low-fat mozerella (organic), organic yogurt and cottage cheese.
It is now 8 years since I read the books and began the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet.

I have moderately introduced almonds, almond buttter and pumpkin seeds back into my diet as well as some tahini.

I have since nearly cut dairy out of my diet and am eating some chicken again.

As a B blood type I am not permitted ANY soy products what-so-ever but since I don't eat much red meat I enjoy the soy alternatives and have begun eating some in moderation.

I believe it doesn't hurt to try out the Eat Right 4 Your Type recommendations for a while. At least a year to get the benefits from it.

It does say in the book that after your body has had time to heal from all the foods you were not supposed to be eating and the damage they can produce that you can treat yourself to the occasional food that is not beneficial to your blood type.

My recommendation is, try it out for about a year or so but don't cut out the foods that the books say are not beneficial for as long I did or you could create a nutritional imbalance.

Just eat the non-beneficial foods in moderation from time to time.

I have read it, done it when it first came out, talked to my doc and naturopath about it, and switched to

The PhMiracle by Dr. Robert O. Young
you can go to his website, order it or just check out the website, www.phmiracleliving.com. Pretty fascinating stuff. When I stopped doing it and started eating junk is when I put on the almost 20 I am now losing. I never had a weight problem on his way of living. Food allergies create cravings which equal weight gain. He discusses some of that on his website and definitely in his book. You can sign up for his emails. He is a cellular biologist who heals people from the cellular structure out. It's called NEW BIOLOGY
