yes, the under armours are pretty new...so who knows how they will hold-up after 300 miles, but my feet are thanking me after the first workout in them today. again, they are by far the most comfortable tennies i have ever worn!0

I'll have to check them out. I haven't paid for those Asics yet...but I did really like them when I tested them out.
*** Just checked out their website...and there's a store in some outlets near me. So since they had to order the Asics in my size...I'm going to go on Saturday before those Asics come in and check out the Under Armour! Yay!!! Good to give me another option. Thanks! I tried the Asics, a pair of Nike, and a pair of Rebock I think...but yeah, gonna give these a shot on Saturday. ***0 -
I just ordered a pair of Asics from a running store (they didn't have my size). I am so excited! I've never actually gone to a professional to see what kind of shoe I should be wearing. I actually learned something, and I cannot wait to try these shoes out on the road! I just have to wait 7-10 business days.
I'm an Asics gal, GT-2140's right now. http://www.runningwarehouse.com or http://www.kellysrunningwarehouse.com are good. I even got my last pair from http://www.zappos.com
I got my feet fit at a local running store, but find them cheaper online. Now that I know what shoes to buy, I wait til they are on sale. Last time I got them for free shipping and had them in 2 days.0 -
300 miles? I thought it was less than that.
*busily trying to calculate how many miles I workout a week*
The local shop here told me 90 miles is the optimum time to switch them if its all running miles. Beyond that the tread tends to get a bit sketchy and the arch support starts to dissapear from being pushed down with every footfall.

Wow, 90 miles? They were trying to get your money!!!!!! I'd be buying shoes WAY too often!! The rule of thumb is usually 300-400 miles on your shoes. I find that around 300 miles is good for me. I have a frunning riend that keeps track of her running miles on the shoe box as she buys them. She writes the date and tracks mileage and then keeps the shoes in the box. I'm not *that* specific about it, but it's a good idea!0 -
I recently went into a new balance store and they measure and fit you to the correct shoe...just tell them what you want in a shoe and they will show you and let you try on what ever you like.0

I'm pretty cheap, so I buy new shoes when my socks are showing through the soles! I am not buying new shoes every 8-10 weeks.0

I went to the Running Company and they put you on a treadmill and record how you run to see what type of shoe you need. I bought asics (~$115) and then later went to finish line with the information I received about my stance and bought a pair of brooks (~$60). I like them both equally. I've read that you should have 2 pairs to alternate days so that the insole has time to spring back into shape.0

Your weight can also affect how often you replace your shoes. I'm considered a heavy runner so I put more wear and tear on my shoes than your typical 115 lb woman runner. Luckily my knees usually tell me when it is time to get a new pair.0
