Take it to work tomorrow, you're co-workers will think you're great and it will be out of the house.

I always set aside some of our favorites and then put it in Christmas stockings.

Donate it. Take it to a children's hospital. I'm sure someone will get good use out of it. Food pantry, anything but throw it out.

Great idea to just toss it! Much better for it to go to "waste" than to go to your waist!

Send it to school with your kids.... The teachers may not be too happy but your kids will be popular :) (OR just give it directly to the teachers so they can pass it out as prizes.)

    That is a great idea!
Lots of great ideas. Thanks. I would feel worse if I didn't just work out lol so at least I am not sitting on the couch snacking on it... Right? lol

When my kids would trick and treat, by about a week after Halloween they were tired of the candy. I'd bring it to work or sort it by type (chocolate, hard candy, etc.) and bag it separately and store it. The shelf life of most candy is pretty long, so it stayed fresh enough that I could pull it out for a snack if we had unexpected kids come after school, needed a last minute snack for a Girl Scout meeting, etc.
  • @radicalreader That's actually a great idea ! :) i've been struggling with this too. Those milky ways are killing me... >.<

A coworker brought in 20 POUNDS of halloween candy from his kids' takes. Not even kidding on the amount. Massive. I dug through and took out all of the milkey ways. I squandered them and put them on my desk and then I realized that what I had in front of me was over 500 calories in unfulfilling crap. Very grudgingly, I took half back after promptings from my MFPeeps. I then managed to take the rest of it back with the exception of one small piece. I actually forgot it was there (buried under paper on my desk). As I uncovered it, a coworker came in and asked if I had chocolate. I gave it to her. I actually had NONE of that candy. I still have candy from my son here at home and it is HARD to keep out of it, but it is worth it! Will power for the win!

Find a local dentist who will "trade" it for tooth brushes, etc.... or.... box it up and send it to our troops serving deployments! They LOVE it! (I'm a proud momma of two soldiers, so I know this!) :)

Being healthy feels better than that candy tastes!

LOL My husbands ship has a nice supply already on its way. My husband asked me to not send too much as he is also trying to get healthy. I told him to pass it on to his fellow sailors.

I LOVE candy..so what I did was each night pick out 3-4 pieces (depending what would fit into my calories that day) to enjoy. I never went over my calories & got to enjoy some small treats.
