Prayers needed

If you could, I would appreciate prayers or good thoughts for my boyfriend. He is at the dentist today having a biopsy on a white patch that the doctor found in his mouth (he chews tobacco).

His appointment should be done or just about done, but I told him not to tell me anything until I get home because I don't think I could handle bad news at work. I want so much for him to quit chewing, but I think that is going to take a lot of work...we're only 29, he is just too young to be facing this(well no one should have to at any age). So I'd appreciate any good thoughts you could send his way today. Thanks:brokenheart:

I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope the biopsy comes back clean, but this gives him the wake up call he needs to stop chewing!

Thanks everyone for the prayers and good thoughts. They really mean a lot. He just called when he got out of his appointment....I guess the spot is near where he had a root canal done a few years ago so the dentist he thinks it may be "trauma" from that. I guess further consulation needs to be done, but he said the dentist sounded pretty optimistic about that.

I don't think he's out of the woods yet though just based on that, and I do really really want him to quit, but at least it was good news for now. Thanks again!

I know, totally. I found this fake stuff online called Smoky Mountain....I'm gonna see if I can find it for him. He didn't seem very hopeful that he would like it, but I'll try anything to get him to quit. He's already said he's been doing it so long that he doesn't really get a buzz from it, so it's just the habit of it....so why not stuff something else in your mouth is the way I see it.

I doubt it will taste exactly the same, but maybe it'll be like regular pop vs. diet.....once you get used to it it's ok. Though I never could, haha.....I prefer to just give up pop and have it now and again than to drink diet....but hey, him quitting totally vs. using the fake stuff works for me too:drinker:

My hubby dips...I don't like it and I worry about him. But I don't think he'll be stopping for me. I'm hoping when we have kids, I can put them up to getting him to quit. haha

ooh that's a good idea, maybe when the kids come along they can guilt him into quitting. Though I'm hoping he quits long before then. Does your hubby spit into bottles? Mine uses empty pop bottles and leaves them lying all over the house, I hate it. I bought him a spittoon last year (though maybe I shouldn't have, it's kind of supporting it) and he used it for a while but now he's too lazy to clean it out often enough so he's back to the bottles.
