Here's a Tabata workout to do

I really like Tabata Protocol. If you don't know what it is, you basically go "ALL OUT" for 20 seconds on an exercise, then rest for 10 seconds, then repeat that cycle 7 more times for a total of 4 minutes! It sounds easy till you get to the 3rd round and realize that you have 5 rounds to go!!! Again the key is go hard and fast and DON'T stop. Even if you have to barely move, you exert all out effort. It doesn't work if you "kinda" go through it. Go HARD or go HOME!!!

Do 2 rounds of burpees
Do 2 rounds of jump tucks
Do 2 rounds of mountain climbers
Do 2 rounds of jump lunges

Understand this is NOT a program for beginners or intermediates to do. You should be in pretty good condition and not have any joint issues.

  • You can do ANYTHING as long as you follow the formula. I us the jump rope or rowing machine, do push ups, tricep dips, run laps, high knees or wall jumps. ANYTHING WORKS :)

    If it hurts and I'm gasping for air that means I'm not in my "FAT BURNING ZONE" and I'm burning muscle!!

  • FYI--there are several Tabata timer apps available for free smartphone downloads! I use mine all the time!!

    I did this 2 days ago, but instead of jump tucks I did high knees and instead of jump lunges I did jump squats. Killer!

    I did it this morning with sprints. When I was done I had to lay on the grass to catch my breath!!!!

    Haven't done this exactly but I attend a bootcamp and we do Tabata Tuesdays. This round of exercises is right up our alley. Brutal workout but I love it! I will forward this one to my coach.
