I've done cleanses before. It clears your entire digestive tract... which is a couple of pounds of food in various stages of digestion... so... yeah... it makes you <hem> "lose" a couple of pounds....
Day 1 & 2 don't feel so great; you're feeling "off" & have sudden & frequent needs to use the restroom. You have to drink a TON of water, so maybe you won't eat so much because your stomach will be full of water. Day 3-5 you get more energy back, & by day 6-7 you feel pretty much normal again.
I've done them, just to try it & see... but start when you aren't working. Trust me; you'll feel tired, & slightly sick.0 -

It's not going to do anything for you in terms of fat loss. If you want to take a laxitive to clear out your system you'll drop some scale weight, but it's not going to change your appearance or fat loss.
Waste of time unless you're constipated IMO.0 -
A cheap and healthy cleanse that I do every morning is warm water with lemon juice 20 mins before I eat. I can tell the difference when I don't do it.0

I agree. There's really no reason to cleanse, detox, or fast in any sort of way. As long as you're eating a healthy, balanced diet and are avoiding processed foods and are exercising your body will detox itself.0 -
You have a liver and kidneys to remove toxic substances from your body. Unless they're failing (in which case you'd get very sick) they don't need help. The detox industry is making a lot of money out of a problem that doesn't exist.0

Could not have said it better. The only beneficial use of the term "detox" is that it is a great "scam detector". It's an instant ID that the web site, trainer, "fitness expert, etc cannot be trusted.0 -

I find kiwifruit particularly good.
But I agree with all the folks above - no need to take products, just eat a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fruit n vege and fiber.
Enjoy!0
