The only thing I am certain of is that I am tired of not taking better care of myself. I have started so many times down the road to making a healthy lifestyle change only to fall short a few months later...3-6 months seems to be my average. When I do not see results I try something different but progress is minimal. Over that last 6 years I have made small changes for the good, I still feel stuck and deflated, yet I keep trying. There are days when I feel deflated and want to give up, other days in which I really just don't care, and there are brief moments when I feel strong and fit!

My goal is to feel strong and fit the majority of days! My goal is to be healthy and live long enough to see and love my grandchildren, and great grandchildren! My goal is to feel beautiful and embarrassment-free when standing naked in front of my husband! My goal is to teach my children about the importance of good health and vitality! My goal is to turn all of my "do I have to's?" into "I want to!"

I am 42, wife to Mark, and mother to my beautiful children ( 5, with 4 still living at home)! I am not dumb, I am capable! I don't give up, I keep trying! I have been knocked down and beat up, yet here I still stand! Today, I am starting over, again!

Welcome to MFP! Sounds like you have the will power, but need the motivation to keep going. Continue standing tall! There's a ton of great support here.

Best wishes to you on your journey!
  • dont worry. same story here. at least your average is a few months. i dont think ive ever been consistent on a diet or "healthy living" for more than a couple weeks. but with MFP and all the members motivation you, its makes it easier. people share tips and advice making the journey not seem so tedious.

feel free to add and good luck! you can do it!
