30 day shred -

so i started today. wow, i think i made a mistake buying 5# weights! Some are OK, but definately need to go and buy some 3 pounders............

very good workout though. i am comparing to a 'bootcamp' class that i had been taking and it is very comparable!

now here's to hoping that i stick with it!

  • YES, 3 pound weights are a lot easier and more practical to use, especially as the exercises get harder. I'm on day 19 (12 days of level one and 7 days of level 2) and thank God my weights are not any more then 3 lbs!

    Welcome to the shred and you can do it!!!! Believe in yourself! Everyone on here is a GREAT support and checking it daily to see what everyone else is doing for exercise is a HUGE motivator!

  • I almost bought the shred today myself! Instead, I got "The Workout" from Extreme Makeover. It starts you off slow then works up your metabolism. Stick with it, you can do it!

    I just finished day 3 and I'm noticing that 3 lbs is plenty. I'm loving it so far!

    I feel like I need 3lbs, 5lbs and 8lbs..lol. I still have one day left of level 1, but somethings such as chest flyes, I could definitely do 8lbs, but other things such as the anterior raises with side lunge, I feel like my arms are going to fall off, and could probably use 3lbs..the 5lb weights work well for everything else.
  • That's so funny, I just went to TJ Maxx to get 5lb today to start Day 1 myself. OUCH.....should have gone with the lower weights or variety pack! I had to switch to holding one with both hands during the side lunge thing....hopefully I'll adapt!

    I agree that I could use 3 and 5......................5 for the chest flys.................3 for everything else!!

    I did as cinnamonie did, held one with both hands during the side lunge!! :bigsmile: too funny

    i just did day 4! I can definately feel it working and im starting to see a change, but im also doing c25km, group classes and gym workout so i dunno what to contribute it to. It is definately NOT EASY though
