How is this possible?

So yesterday morning I weighed 168.4.... last night I ate out and ate 400 over my target.... this morning I weighed 168.0... ate half a cup of brocolli and beef, a cup of Cheerios with almond milk, and a banana - slept for 3 hours and wokeup and I knew I had lost weight and confirmed it just now.... 167.2..... how is this possible? The scale is very accurate (compared it to several hospital scales) and I did not go to the bathroom since before I weighed the first time this morning...

just the ups and downs during the day, you'll make yourself crazy on weighing more than once a day, because it varies widely.

Weighing yourself multiple times during the day will make you crazy. I freely admit that I weigh myself 4 or 5 times a week but never twice in the same day and if the scale does something funky, which mine does once every couple of months, I just put it away and try again the next day otherwise it will make you insane.0

Yeah but is it possible to sweat out .8 lbs during a three hour nap? Its not warm in the house maybe 65 degreesbut I did use a blanket....just the ups and downs during the day, you'll make yourself crazy on weighing more than once a day, because it varies widely.

Is it possible that the foods you ate sped up your metablosim and therefore burned some of the calories you ate up while you were sleeping? I am sure you know that even sleeping burns calories.0

How much water have you been drinking? The body is very adaptable, but it needs time to process intake into energy.
Try this:
- Weigh yourself
- Drink 3 cups of water
- Weight yourself again
The entire amount of water will show up on the scale. This is the danger of weighing multiple times a day after every small action... its highly inaccurate.
Don't worry about it dude, just do what I do - it's ok to weigh yourself every day, to check up if you're curious... but for the love of god DON'T TRACK IT! Just track it once a week and leave the rest up to curiosity!0 -
lol, be great-full. it's very possible. i've weighed myself within an hour and gained 2 pounds. weight fluctuations are actually kind of interesting to me.0

I quit weighing myself everyday and only do it once a week.. May actually stick with measurments instead
The tape is being more of a friend than the scale...lol

I can fluctuate 6-8lbs in 16 hrs. Weighing yourself a few times a day will make most people insane.
(I do it to see how my body weight fluctuates /shrug)0 -
Take random error into the equation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_error
I use a quite accurate medical/professional scale, and it includes a +/- 200 grams error....
BTW, i weight in 5 times a day.. i just take into account randomness. more info here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Uerzer0 -

We loose 500ml of water a day just with respiration. My job requires me to know these little facts. That's in itself is close to a lb.0 -
I wouldn't weigh more than once a week0

I'm just as crazy as you. Sometimes I weigh myself before and after a nap and yep, will be down by over a lb sometimes0 -
Oh I guess it is possible then haha...0

In fact my best weight loss happened when I slept a lot. Not saying it's cause and effect but I don't mind another excuse to sleep0

Let me say this for me, I weigh myself every morning. in just underwear. i get up go to the bathroom #1 then hit the scale. I then put a sports bra on nothing else do some strength excersizes such as crunches leg lifts push ups go directly and weigh myself I am now two pounds heavier. I dunno how that is possible. Which makes in my opinion anything possible.
I"ll trade you a weight loss for my weight gain anyday.
