Is it me, or ?

I came across this quite by accident to be honest. I was essentially looking for food journal to use on my smart phone, and I came across this cool little app for just such a thing. It was awhile before I figured out that it was a view into a bigger world of MFP. So now that I've been poking around for awhile, I'm wondering is it me, or is it a bit overwhelming at first?! Yikes!

It's all good . . . hoping to figure this all out. I know from previous experience it helps me to keep a journal not so much of precise calorie counts, but more of what and when I eat. Who knew that extra handful of this or that was another 200+ calories. Who knew a delicious cocktail was 300+ caloires? Anyway, is it me, or ??

By way of introduction, I'm just an old guy in southen california looking to wear some nicer clothes again, feel a little better about myself, improve my energy a little (or a lot), look a little better for others, and sitck around a little longer for my kids. All good in the hood . . . . Really?! YES!

I was a little confused at first. ie. Eat or don't eat exercise cals, how do I change my ticker, etc. It gets old hat after a while. Nice to have you here.

Welcome to the site that changed my life!! if it is one thing MFP does is helps to educate you on what you are putting into your mouth; which in of itself guides you to making wise and healthier food choices. You will be amazed at he power of community and the magic of calorie counting! Best to you!

I know what you mean it really is a little overwhelming. It is shocking how all the handfuls of this and bites of that add up. I have found this site has really helped me pay more attention of what I eat and how much I move.

I wish you the best on your journey to reach your goals.

I also came across this by accident, on my phone, and took a while to realize it was a whole online thing as well. It's great! I've been doing a lot better after I joined the website part of it.

I had no idea how many calories I was consuming by what I thought was light snacking. What was even more shocking to me was sodium! I still have trouble staying below it when I try and watch it.. the trick is to make your own food and not eat processed junk.. but I didn't even realize how much salt I was ingesting a day before I came here.

I agree, once I found out how many calories were in my favorite pizza I finally realized where and why I was gaining weight steadily over the years. Best part is that I don't have to give that up, I've just stopped eating the whole thing in one sitting. If you need support, friend me.
