Good morning runners!

I ran 4 miles this morning. I will go to the gym tonight to lift weights.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Son and I will be doing Day 2 of Week 4 of the Couch to 5K. I'm much happier with this week because you actually run 16 of the 20 minutes. He's hating it but I keep telling him it gets harder before it gets easier.

I did 20 min of Yoga and I did week 4 Day 1. It was hard since I am not used to it being so warm, but nice feeling at the same time. I added an extra 0.2 miles at this pace.

It is a great feeling to get out and run.

Heading out for seven in just a bit. I'm currently training for a 20K at the end of May. I need to juggle my schedule because my long runs are on Saturdays, and I will be out of town and unable to get them in the next two weeks.:grumble:

hi, im new to MFP and am just starting to run. Today I ran about 3-4 miles, but am still walking at intervals in between. Thinking of taking up the couch to 5K. is it better than just pushing yourself?

also, any running tips would be great - i really have no idea what I'm doing but im loving it so far.

    Congratulations and welcome to running!:flowerforyou:

I LOVE couch to 5K. I used it to get started running too. I am concerned that pushing yourself may lead to injury. Then, injury will lead to no running. As you have already discovered, running is fun. Ease into it so you can continue to enjoy yourself injury free.

    My tips:
Relax and enjoy yourself. Have fun.
Get a good pair of shoes. Spend around $75.
If you feel tired or sore on the couch to 5K, repeat that week. It took me longer than 10 weeks to finish.

Don't forget to post here daily so we can see what you're up to. This is a judgement free zone. We post when we run, walk, cross train, or just want to chat with other runners.

Thanks! today I did 2 miles total, running for 1.5... I think I'm just going to see how it goes because I feel pretty good about setting my own weekly goals since I have already started.

i definitely need to get new shoes though... i already have blisters from my old ones and i can tell they are worn down...
