Do you own a Gazelle?

Since it is getting colder and I now have a basement, I was thinking about getting a Gazelle instead of always going to the gym. It would be something new and save on time and gas. Are they worth the money? Is it a good workout? Which type do you own?

I DID........... I gave it to my parents because I found it to be awkward........... This was years ago so Im sure they have improved since then, but it was woobly and I personally didnt feel like I was getting the calorie burn that I get elsewhere.
Not sure if that helps lol- Good luck!0 -
How much are they? B/C you could probably find a better quality treadmill or elliptical on craigslist for the same price or a little bit more.0

Dude, who knew a gazelle was so freaking cute?0 -
I own one! I purchased it last year because they are so, so, soooo much cheaper than any base model elliptical I could find. There are pros and cons. I describe it more as a glider. The motion is awkward at first, but if you bend your knees slightly and bend forward or lean backward you get a good burn.
The calorie counter on it is way off. I do it for 60 mins while watching tv and it says I've burned 1k calories. Obviously that is not right (trust me). When it comes to the burn, I base it off of the burn I get from the elliptical at the gym on a 15 resistance for 60 mins (which is about 430-500 depending). If you're looking for something cheap to make you sweat, it works.0 -

I have the Gazelle Power Plus. I wanted to get an elliptical but the cheapest I could find was $700. I went to Play It Again Sports (a store that re-sells gently used equipment as well as new) and paid $150 for it. I like it. It gives me a good work out. I just increased the intensity on it and the pumps take about 8-10 minutes to loosen up, but I think I may try some marine grease to see if that helps. Other than that, I think I got a great deal.0

I have one. It is awkward at first but you learn to use it and it works. I would look for a used one. People buy machines all the time and then stop using them.
Be ready-You will get a lot of people on here that think they are bad. Let me add some clarification. If you are trying to be a power lifter or Mr America it is not what you want. If you are like most of us-overweight and trying to get in more excercise than you did before its a great machine.
Good luck0 -
I have had one for a couple of years. I bought it off of someone on Craig's List and have been very happy with it. I use it for while and then mix it up with exercise videos. I like it because it is low impact.0
