food at gym

I belong to a rather large gym (chain) and they have rented a small spot in a corner to an independent juice/smoothie bar. everything was fine until this week; they started serving breakfast sandwiches. bacon, scrambled eggs, etc. the entire gym smells of bacon and sausage. that normally wouldn't be a problem for me (ha!) as i love the smell, but it's very strong, and it's nauseating when i'm working-out. should i say something to management? surely others have complained.

If it bothers you, then complain.0

I would absolutely complain! You pay for your membership just like everyone else!0

I see no issue with bringing up the fact that it bothers you.0

I would complain for sure.0

my problem would be not wasting my workout on bacon!0

Speak up! (I would probably even let them know that if this isn't fixed promptly, I will be finding another gym.)0

you lost me at bacon, what were you saying? Sort of weird that they would be selling bacon in the gym actually. Not exactly a heathy alternative to a smoothie.0

I worked at a gym that served beer in the cafe. And sold lots of it. Seemed a little off to me too, but at least that didn't stink.0

write them a letter or email.
my gym has a strict policy in the creche that they can only have fruit (no biscuits, no sandwiches, nothing but fresh fruit / carrot sticks etc) this is also so they don't have to worry about allergies, but to promote healthy eating, and really, what kid can't survive for an hour or 2 without food if they won't eat fruit?
so i went in there one day and they had all these "low carb diet products including shakes and bars and low carb chocolate blocks". i was furious, of course my kids wanted the bar of chocolate. so i wrote an email and said i wanted all the food for sale removed out of the creche as my kids don't know the difference between low carb rubbish and high carb rubbish. next day i turned up and it was all gone.
i'm sure they can at least accommodate you with bacony smells. if they get a few complaints, they'd be stretched to change... ask them why they don't just chuck a macdonalds franchise in the corner if they are going to start selling bacon rolls.0
