Is anyone else doing the Belly Fat Cure diet by Jorge Cruise? MFP has been wonderful in helping me track carbs and sugar.
I did this program about a year ago and lost close to 30 pounds but for some reason decided to switch back to WW.

Now I'm back and hopefully for good. I have IBS and a low carb, low sugar plan seems to help my digestive system so much.

Would like to share experiences, tips, recipes, menu's, etc. with anyone else doing this program.

I've never heard of it, but could do with it myself! All my weight is around my middle.

I do low carb and do Pilates core exercises and cardio to burn fat and tone tummy muscles and strengthen back. my tummy was 48" around widest part its now 36 " and my waist has gone down from 38" to 32 ".

I am familiar with many diets that have misleading names. Do the details of this diet explain that spot reduction is a myth?

Edit: Example, the "ab blaster" diet. You would think this diet aims at eliminating the fat around your gut but in reality the diet just has you making healthier choices and keeping a negative energy deficit (which I can't imagine how a piece of literature can tell you your isocaloric requirement) which is ultimately going to lead to weight loss....
  • I'm doing it now. I've adjusted my carbs and sugar to fit what Jorge recommends. I've reached my first 10 pound goal sooner than my orginal date.
It works! I can already tell around my middle...
I don't feel it's a fad diet. It's adjusting the amount of carbs and sugars. And it's not so restricting like Atkins. 6 servings of good carbs and 15g of sugar a day.

The plan basically tells you to count carbs and sugar.

Yes, I have read everything imaginable out there about this diet. In my opinion you will find both positive and negative reviews on any plan. I have used this plan before and it works well for me so I'm going to stick with it.

Was basically just looking for support for anyone else who is following it.

Thanks! Do you know of any community threads where people share recipes, menu's, etc?
Didn't find much here on MFP.

I haven't really looked around for that. I basically just keep an eye on labels and such. When I find recipes online, I stick them on here to see if it fits in the 15/6 plan. If not, I change it up to fit. MFP really helps me stick to it. Before I didn't keep track that well, but since you can modify your goals (%s of carbs, sugar, ect.) I have more success on Jorge Cruise Belly Fat Cure.

I have been tracking on paper how many servings of carbs and sugars I have in a day but really like that I can plug a food into MFP and see how many sugar grams are in a certain food.

I still keep a general written log of how many carb servings I have and try to stay close to 6 servings compared to 120 grams.

That's good! I generally go over my carbs and sugars, but not by too much. As long as I'm losing, that's all that matters! I'm sure as I get closer to my goal weight, I'll have to adjust by not going over.

I am!!! So far my husband & I love it, we started yesterday & for once I feel like i found a new lifestyle not a diet!!!. And no it is not a miracle spot reducing myth, it is about limiting sugar & monitoring carbs to lose weight. The weight will come off but also from the increase of fiber, your tummy will release any old waste in there. It is a good solid plan that is based on healthier choices that exclude artificial sweeteners & many processed foods.
