so, im a big fan of my protein shake. i make it really healthy with almond milk and some strawberries but my only question mark is should i keep eating the balance bar bares that ive recently been using as a snack when i need energy??
is that too much protein? i usually have a shake no more than twice a day then have the bar. but protein is fat, right? so is that going to make it harder to go from 108 to 105?
my friend said i should snack on raw almonds and dry fruit.
what do you all think?

There is usually a lot of sugar in the protein/energy bars.0

Almonds and dry fruit is good for you but high in calories and you can get too much of anything. I don't think a Balance bar every now and then is a bad thing. I think they're high in sugar. Anything over 6 grams is probably too much sugar except in a very small amount and only a few times a week. Sugar is really not healthy. Those protein bars are loaded in sugar --- most of them at least. So you're not doing yourself a favor by eating them and they are probably putting fat on you. As a general rule, foods that are organic and natural - not processed or in a package - are the best snacks and the best food in general.0

I personally think you shouldn't concerned with going from 108 to 105 - not sure why 3 lbs really makes that much of a difference, but MFP does have protein set pretty low, so it depends on your activity level (how much you're working out). If you work out a ton, then you're probably fine. Protein isn't fat, but can be stored as fat if not used, i.e. working out a lot.0

I do Body by Vi alot for lunch with Skim milk and fruit. And Atkins protein peanut butter/chocolate bars for breakfast. I thought about cutting back on those due to the high fat content. But it satisfies so many cravings. And I love them. I just log everything and make sure I do not go over anything such as fat, calories and carbs. I will typically go over protein due to the bars and whatever meat I eat for dinner but do not worry about it. So far it has not held me back. You might ask a nutritionist.0

Protein isnt fat!
Protein is protein!
The trick to weight loss and lean mass gain is eating abundant protein on a daily basis.
Lean mass dictates the amount we need so for someone like me when i'm cutting id go for 130g or less.
Try to stay away from plant based protein because it has a tendency to turn into sludge in your gut and "say hello to ExLax!"
My protein bar favorite is Optimum nutrition whey bars.
Only found on ONs website.
Also try pepperoni or beef jerkey if you can handle the sodium.
