Team H20 Rockin' the New Year Challenge

There are just over 7 weeks left until 2011 is history. Let's make sure we close out this year with a bang! Set a goal for yourself and follow through. But be sure you allow yourself to enjoy the special activities and foods that the holidays bring, because denying yourself entirely of these treats and goodies will only make you a grinch. ;)

We can get more of the challenge details squared away later, but I think since we will be getting so busy, it might just be best to use our challenge thread as a place to check-in and step away from the holiday crazyness for a couple minutes.

I want to lose 5lb, but i went and put on 1.2lb this week, so 6.2lb now. , will be happy with half that though, very slow loser at the moment.

BJ, I've got faith in you.

Violet, welcome back! You and I can jump back in on this together!

Hi myth4ever, nice to meet you. You should take a look through our old challenge threads, we've been around since August 2010!

I'm ready for this year to end on the best note ever!!!! I'm just a few pounds from my goal and really want to hit that before Christmas... so count me in!!!

I don't know if I'm going to do another running goal, since my focus right now is on strength, but I will make it a goal to workout 4-5 days a week and hit that ultimate goal weight by 12/31/11!!!!!

There... it's in writing... no turning back now!

Hi everyone! It's great to see people back on here! I'm going to make a similar challenge to Nikki and say my goal is to work out 4x per week, including lifting weights twice per week and running at least once.

I want to be able to do 30 push ups (I'm at 21 now), and I want to keep my sugar/chocolate consumption low until Christmas eve/Christmas day, and then I will allow myself to eat some (not crazy amounts, but more indulgent than normal). And I'll aim to enjoy a few nights out, going over calories, but ideally staying at or under maintenance for those days.

    And finally I'll log everything!

I was part of the group before but dropped out because I found out I was pregnant. I am making a point of staying active and gaining a minimal amount of weight. Is it ok if I join in even if my goal is to gain instead of drop weight?
Are we still doing the same weekly exercise challenges?

Apparently I'm completely out of the loop...when did we loose our signatures?!

bmfrazie, I was thinking with this challenge that it would kind of me a self-enforced one. You pick what you want to challenge yourself on, and pick what you want your goal to be for the new year. If you think a more structured challenge format would work, I'm sure I can put something together for everyone. Lemme know! :)

    yeah... where ARE our signatures?!

They took the signatures away earlier this week. I don't know the reason but I really am not happy about it either.

I don't know about anyone else but I tend to do better when I know I have a set number of an exercise to do instead of telling myself that I need to hit the gym.

They took away our stuff...shame though, I liked personalizing my signature. I am up for anything...self challnge or something put together. I am in a challenge right now...mostly to get moving. But I always love hanging with the girls!

bmfazie - okay then, I'll whip up a little somethin' somethin' in the name of a challenge. :) Along the same lines, do we want to start new threads each week/every other week/keep everything in this one thread?

Linda - I liked having a siggy too! I went to go update my CW and kept running around in circles feeling so stupid that I couldn't remember how to edit it.

cazz - :( on the sore muscles. I hope you get back to full strength quickly!

We could also start a private group if you would like. Seems like it might be easier to keep us all together.

I haven't tried starting a private group yet...anyone wanna volunteer to make the magic happen?

And I'm going to be upfront and honest here and say that the next two weeks might lack communication on my part (again). We are moving into our new house (yay!) and so I'm going to be packing/cleaning/moving/settling-in in the near future. So I'll get in here as often as I can, but I just wanted to give you the heads up that I wasn't deserting you all (again). :)

    Great work, BJ!!!

I thought I joined the group, but now I don't see it... did I do something wrong???? The group tool is coming in really handy for me, so starting one for us is awesome!

So far so good, I've been working out every day but one since Nov 1!!!! Haven't lost anything yet, but I'm working on it. Finding it hard to say no to certain things lately since I'm "so close" to my goal... candy everywhere... homemade stuff... it's going to be a tough holiday season for me!

Okay... so I am slowly building up to where I was in my workouts before surgery. My muscles are still aching, screaming at me, but I'm getting there. Funny how I am afraid of doing any core work for fear of injury. (Don't wanna do hernia repair again!!) Having said that, I AM doing crunches... just no where near the number I used to. I'll get stronger. I'll get thinner. I'll get to where I want to be. Time, time, time...

    Good afternoon ladies!

Happy to see that you are still rockin'! I can't exercise much because of my knee but I can still try to do light exercises. I think it's easier to put my mind into eating healthy and exercising with all of yous in a challenge! I know I won't lose much until the New Year but at least I won't gain!

    Happy Wednesday Ladies!

Hey Ladies.. I'm back.. I have couple odds and ends to clear up this weekend while I'm off, but then Ill be back at it full throttle. Can't wait!! Ive found a way to curb my late night hunger. Found out if I have a glass of milk with about a teaspoon of Hershey syrup, it prevents me from eating something after dinner.. :) Fixes that light night hunger, and I don't have the desire for sweets afterwards.. :) I know it may not be the healthiest at the moment.. but im sure it has less calories, ect then if I were to eat chips or chocolate. :) Working on getting my head back into the game. My hubby is going to be doing it along with me this time.. Thinking of getting him to join on here too.. :) Hopefully I can get him to. Im about caught up on my photography finally, once Im doing with that.. Im going to limit my amount of time daily online. Working on improving a lot of different things.. Thank you Pinky for taking on the next challenge.. Im happy to see H20 keep going.. :) I love it!! :) Love ya guys! Lets rock this!!

Where did everyone disappear to? I miss you all soo much. What's your game plan for tackling the upcoming holiday for many of us, Thanksgiving? Are you going to allow yourself to enjoy the holiday, or are you going to limit yourself to help lessen the chance of a fall back? i am planning on making a game plan of my own for tackling thanksgiving. I dont want to over indulge. I am planning on eating as healthy as I can. :) I am getting back on the ban wagon everyone.. better watch out because here i come.. :) choo choo.. hah maybe its the ban train.. :)
